      Advice: Fry has a pair of three-hits games over his last nine contests, going 13-for-26 (.500) with four homers, three steals and 11 RBI in that span. The utility man is on another level lately, though he's been strong throughout the campaign with a .357/.492/.622 slash line, seven homers, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored and four steals over 128 plate appearances. He's started three straight games in left field, but that avenue into the lineup will close when Steven Kwan (hamstring) returns from the injured list.       Advice: Ramirez has five multi-hit efforts, five homers and 15 RBI over his last seven contests. He opened the scoring in the first inning with his team-leading 16th homer of the campaign. The third baseman has added a major-league-best 56 RBI with 41 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a .272/.328/.558 slash line over 54 games this season.       Triston McKenzie fanned a season-high nine while allowing four runs over five innings Tuesday against the Rockies.

      Advice: McKenzie left with a three-run lead, but he was denied a win after that was blown in the sixth. The no-decision left him 0-1 in his last seven starts, even though the Guardians have gone 6-1 in those games. But let’s just keep pretending win-loss records matters in 2024.       David Fry went 3-for-3 and hit a three-run homer Tuesday against the Rockies.

      Advice: Fry wasn’t expected to make the Guardians out of spring training and then wasn’t slated to play against righties once he did make the team, but all he’s done so far is hit .357/.492/.622 with seven homers and four steals in 128 plate appearances.     • José Ramírez homers, scores four times in victory
      José Ramírez homered, doubled, walked twice and scored four runs against the Rockies on Tuesday.

      Advice: Ramírez has spent most of the year with a slash line well below his usual standards, but going 16-for-44 with seven homers and six doubles in his last 11 games has pushed him up to .272/.328/.558, and he now has eight more RBI (56) than anyone else in the majors.       McKenzie gave up four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out nine over five innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

      Advice: Kris Bryant and Elehuris Montero each tagged McKenzie for a two-run home run. Despite those homers, McKenzie left the game in line for the win before the Guardians' bullpen faltered in the sixth inning. The right-hander had limited opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his last seven outings before his step back Tuesday. McKenzie is at a 3.77 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 54:34 K:BB over 57.1 innings across 11 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Royals in a tough divisional matchup.     • Gets out of jam for ninth save
      Duran picked up the save Tuesday against Kansas City, allowing two hits and no walks with a strikeout over one scoreless inning.

      Advice: Duran surrendered a leadoff double to Salvador Perez and then a single to Adam Frazier, putting runners on the corners with no outs in the ninth. However, pinch-runner Dairon Blanco was caught stealing second and Duran retired MJ Melendez and Nick Loftin back-to-back to keep the Royals off the scoreboard.       Jhoan Duran earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

      Advice: Back-to-back hits to kick off the ninth got Duran in trouble early, but he was able to buckle down and retire his remaining batters to earn the win for the Twins, who have now won six of their last seven.     • Zack Littell takes tough luck loss to A’s
      Zack Littell allowed three runs (none earned) on five hits in seven innings in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

      Advice: Littell also struck out nine and walked just one. A Brandon Lowe fielding error got the sixth inning started, and after a walk, Littell was able to get two outs before giving up a three-run shot to Miguel Andujar. That was the difference in the game. The 28-year-old had a dominant performance from his splitter on Tuesday and rode it to a 31 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW overall.
