      Rodon (2-2) took the loss Thursday against the Orioles, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits over four innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: After shutting out Baltimore through the first two innings, Rodon allowed three solo home runs between the third and fourth innings before the O's put up a four spot in the fifth, forcing the Yankees to turn to the bullpen. It's a deflating effort from Rodon, who'd allowed just one run over 13 innings in his previous two starts. His ERA is up to 3.68 on the season with a 1.28 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB in seven starts.     • Carlos Rodón struggles, allows three HRs in loss
      Carlos Rodón allowed seven runs — six earned — in four innings while picking up a loss Thursday to the Orioles.

      Advice: Rodón gave up three homers in the loss, and he also allowed eight hits. No walks and no strikeouts, but it’s tough to take much solace in those numbers because see above. The left-hander was excellent in his previous two starts, but the ever-so-tough Baltimore lineup was one he wasn’t up to the task against, at least that was the case for Thursday.       McKenzie did not factor into the decision in a win over the Astros on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out six.

      Advice: McKenzie was highly effective Wednesday despite getting down in the count early and often, striking out at least six batters for the third consecutive start, with five of those strikeouts coming on his curveball. The right-hander issued only one free pass in the contest, which marked a season best, while also going seven innings for the first time in the early campaign.     • Bounces back with quality start
      Musgrove didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts over six innings against the Reds.

      Advice: After being tagged for seven runs and four long balls in his last start, Musgrove set a season high in strikeouts and notched his fourth quality start of the campaign. While three of the four hits did go for extra bases, including a first-inning solo homer by Spencer Steer, Musgrove was able to keep his opponent to less than three runs for the first time in four starts. Through eight starts, Musgrove owns a 2.2 HR/9 after having not allowed more than 1.1 HR/9 since 2017. He's tentatively scheduled for a start Tuesday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.     • Triston McKenzie strikes out six in no-decision
      Triston McKenzie allowed two runs with six strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.

      Advice: McKenzie was outstanding against the Astros on Wednesday. He had allowed just one hit across five scoreless innings before a double and a base hit brought the first run in for Houston in the sixth. Kyle Tucker led off the seventh inning with a game-tying homer. McKenzie finished the inning with two strikeouts, giving him six on the day. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 4.34 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 24/18 K/BB ratio across 29 innings into a start against the Tigers in Cleveland on Monday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:59 pm
       
    • Joe Musgrove dazzles with nine strikeouts vs. Reds
      Joe Musgrove posted a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Reds.

      Advice: Musgrove cobbled together one of his strongest performances of the season to date, It was a much-needed bounce-back effort after being shelled for seven runs on eight hits, including four homers, over 3 2/3 innings his last time out against the Phillies. His average fastball velocity was back above 93 mph in this one as he induced 14 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 32 percent CSW. He’ll bring an inflated 6.37 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 36/13 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Cubs at historic Wrigley Field. It’s going to take a while for his surface stats to improve after some ugly early-season disasters, but this outing was an encouraging step in the right direction.       King (2-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings.

      Advice: King struggled to keep the ball in the yard in this one. Bryson Stott got to him for a pair of two-run homers and J.T. Realmuto swatted one out against him in the sixth. His lack of command continues to haunt him, as he's now allowed 10 home runs in seven starts and has walked multiple batters in all but one appearance. The 29-year-old sports a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB in 36 innings and will line up for a road start against the Diamondbacks his next time out. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:40 am

      Michael King was hit hard in a losing effort against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon, surrendering six runs on six hits across 5 1/3 innings.

      Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, he still did manage to punch out six batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. His troubles in this one stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Bryson Stott crushed a pair of two-run homers off of him and J.T. Realmuto added one of his own. King got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 40/21 K/BB ratio (36 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:19 pm

      Littell (1-2) picked up a loss after he pitched six innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out six batters in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

      Advice: Littell opened the game with three scoreless innings before Chicago scratched across a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, including an RBI single by Danny Mendick, which gave the White Sox a 2-1 lead. Littell was able to return to form and pitch two more scoreless frames before exiting after the sixth, securing his first quality start since March 30.
