Happ went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Happ is batting just .221 (15-for-68) in May, but he's also recorded both of his steals for the year this month. The veteran outfielder has a career-worst .652 OPS and .218 batting average over 46 contests while adding two home runs, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored. While he's struggling to find a rhythm at the plate, Happ continues to hold down a starting job in left field. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Michael Busch goes 0-for-4 in loss to Braves
Michael Busch went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Thursday in the Cubs’ shutout loss at the hands of the Braves.

Advice: Busch is really struggling at the moment, batting .183 (17-for-93) with just one home run over his last 30 games. He’s gone especially frigid at the dish, hitting just .071 (1-for-14) over his past seven contests. The league seems to have made its adjustment to the 26-year-old top prospect and now it’s time for him to strike back. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him get a break in the coming days as a bit of a mental reset. Rotoworld Today, 2:52 pm

    • Kyle Hendricks allows two runs in relief outing
Kyle Hendricks allowed two runs over two innings on Thursday in a relief appearance against the Braves.

Advice: Hendricks entered the contest in the eighth inning for his first relief appearance since 2016 and just his third career relief appearance of his 11-year career. He wound up surrendering a pair of runs in the eighth before coming back out to work a scoreless ninth. Cubs manager Craig Counsell indicated earlier this week that Hendricks would likely move back into the starting rotation at some point, but that seems a bit farfetched given his persistent struggles this season. • Moving back to bench role
Madrigal is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Madrigal had started at second base or third base in seven of the past eight games, but his opportunities to pick up playing time in the infield are likely to be more limited moving forward after shortstop Dansby Swanson and second baseman Nico Hoerner both recently returned from injuries. The 27-year-old hasn't done much with the opportunities he's received with the Cubs this season, slashing .213/.276/.250 with no home runs and one stolen base across 87 plate appearances. • Allows five runs in loss
Steele (0-2) took the loss against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five over 6.1 innings.

Advice: Steele made short work of the first six batters he faced in the contest before giving up a leadoff single to Michael Harris to open the third, followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Adam Duvall. The lefty then appeared to settle in over the next three frames, but again found himself in trouble after allowing three of the first four batters to reach in the seventh. He would end up being charged with another three runs in the inning, with two coming home after he was relieved by Jose Cuas. Steele has now given up four or more runs in three consecutive starts and is still looking for his first win of the season. On a positive note, Wednesday also marked the first time this season in which he's gotten through six innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm
    • Justin Steele surrenders five runs to Braves in loss
Justin Steele allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: Steele had retired the first six batters before Michael Harris II led off the third inning with a base hit. Adam Duvall followed with a two-run homer to put the Braves on the board. Steele pitched into the seventh, leaving at 93 pitches with a run in, two runners on, and one out. Both inherited runners would come in to score. He struck out five on the day. The 28-year-old left-hander will take a 5.68 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 23/6 K/BB ratio across 25 1/3 innings into a start against the Brewers in Milwaukee on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:05 pm
    • Sitting against lefty
Tauchman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Tauchman will retreat to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for Atlanta. He'll indirectly cede his spot in the lineup to infielder Nick Madrigal, who draws the start at third base while Christopher Morel replaces Tauchman as the Cubs' designated hitter. • Sitting against southpaw
Busch is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With a tough southpaw in Max Fried on the mound for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Busch will retreat to the bench. Patrick Wisdom will replace Busch at first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:43 pm

    • Shut down for two weeks
Manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Alzolay (forearm) will be shut down from throwing for at least two weeks, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Alzolay went in for a second opinion on his right flexor strain Tuesday, and the damage appears to be serious enough to warrant a shutdown. Counsell added that Alzolay could require surgery, but his next steps will be determined after the two-week rest period. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:16 pm
