• Patrick Bailey (concussion) to return on Saturday
Patrick Bailey (concussion) is expected to be activated from the injured list on Saturday.

Advice: The 24-year-old backstop caught a bullpen session for Blake Snell on Friday without any issues, which was the final hurdle to clear before returning. Expect Jakson Reetz to be optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento to clear a spot on the active roster. Rotoworld Friday, 4:47 pm
  • Moves to 60-day IL
The Pirates transferred Delay (knee) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Delay will give up his spot on the 40-man roster in order to make room for Daulton Jefferies, who was acquired in a trade with the Giants on Friday. Delay was already expected to be out until July after undergoing knee surgery in April, so his move to the 60-day IL has virtually no impact on his return timeline. He has resumed catching during bullpen sessions, but he still has a long way to go before returning to the Pirates' lineup. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:17 pm

  • Not among starters
Naylor is not included in the starting lineup for Friday's outing against the White Sox.

Advice: The lefty catcher will get some rest as the Guardians take on southpaw starter Garrett Crochet. Austin Hedges will take over at catcher and bat ninth in place of Naylor. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:24 pm

  • Out of lineup Friday
Wells is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The young backstop will not start against Tampa Bay while Jose Trevino catches and bats eighth. Wells has started four of the last seven matchups behind home plate for the Yankees, but it appears he and Trevino are in a near-even timeshare, as Wells has struggled to get the bat going with a slash line of .190/.321/.302 on the season. • William Contreras raises average to .340 in win
William Contreras went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Thursday in the Brewers’ lopsided win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Contreras capped off a strong three-hit effort with a run-scoring single in the seventh inning that raised his full-season batting average to a remarkable .340 (50-for-147) mark through 37 games. The 26-year-old burgeoning fantasy star won’t sustain a .402 BABIP for much longer, but he’s proven that he’s going to be right around the .300 mark from a batting average standpoint thanks to his consistent hard contact and line-drive rate. The key to making the leap into an even greater offensive force will be whether he starts to put the ball in the air with increased frequency. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:24 pm
  • Idle versus lefty
Melendez isn't in the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Angels.

Advice: Lefty Reid Detmers will start on the mound for Los Angeles, sending the left-handed bat of Melendez into Kansas City's dugout for the beginning of the game. Dairon Blanco will instead serve as the Royals' left fielder and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:18 pm

  • Gets Thursday off
Lee isn't in the White Sox's lineup Thursday against the Guardians.

Advice: Lee will take a seat for the second game in a row Thursday despite recording a hit in three of his last four games. Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate instead and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:19 pm

  • Sets record in twin bill
Langeliers went 5-for-9 with a double, a triple, two home runs, a third run scored and eight RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Rangers.

Advice: The 26-year-old backstop fell a single short of a cycle in the matinee while driving in five runs, and Langeliers then launched his second long ball of the day in the second inning of the nightcap off Jack Leiter. Langeliers' eight RBI were the most ever by an Oakland player in a doubleheader, breaking the record of seven set by Reggie Jackson in 1969. Langeliers has produced multiple hits with a homer in three of his last four games, but the surge has only brought his batting average up to .209 (24-for-115). He is supplying some big-time power, however. Through 34 contests, he's slugged nine homers with 24 RBI. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:27 am
  • Wong records two more hits against Braves
Connor Wong went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: Wong continues to hit. He’s up to .354 on the season with a .964 OPS. While Wong is a career .249 hitter, he’s cut his career strikeout rate from 31 percent to 21 percent this year. If he keeps that up, there’s certainly reason to believe he can be an asset in batting average for the rest of the season.
