    • Looks good in rehab start
Wacha (foot) struck out six over four scoreless innings in his first rehab start with the Royals' Arizona Complex League affiliate Monday.

Advice: Manager Matt Quatraro said prior to the outing that Wacha might need just the one rehab start before rejoining the major-league rotation this weekend against the Rangers. Given how well he pitched, it seems safe to assume that Wacha will indeed be back this weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday. He's been sidelined since early June with a non-displaced left foot fracture. Rotowire.com Today, 9:07 am

    • Wacha (foot) fires four scoreless in rehab start
Michael Wacha (foot) hurled four scoreless innings in a rehab start Monday at in the Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Wacha allowed two hits and struck out six. The right-hander was placed on the injured list just before the start of June with a fractured foot, and is continuing to build back his arm strength in hope of making a return to the Royals by the end of the month. One more rehab start is likely before Wacha does rejoin the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 8:58 am

    • Starting rehab assignment Wednesday
Cabrera (shoulder) is scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Marlins have signed off on Cabrera advancing the final phase of his rehab program from a right shoulder impingement after he came out of a live bullpen session Monday without issue. According to De Nicola, the Marlins are targeting Cabrera for three innings or 50 pitches Wednesday, so he'll likely require an additional rehab outing beyond that to get fully stretched out for a typical starter's workload. • Mike Clevinger (elbow) making rehab start Tuesday
Mike Clevinger (elbow) is making a rehab start for Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

Advice: Clevinger is working his way back from elbow inflammation that has sideliend him since the end of May. The 33-year-old could be back in the rotation after that rehab start, but the next steps will be determined by how he responds from the outing. Rotoworld Today, 8:31 am

    • Begins rehab assignment
Martin (elbow) began a rehab assignment with the White Sox' Arizona Complex League affiliate on June 14, allowing one run with a 5:1 K:BB over two innings.

Advice: Martin had Tommy John surgery last May and is currently on the 60-day injured list at Triple-A Charlotte. He will eventually move up to Charlotte once the White Sox decide he's ready and should be an option to join the major-league club at some point after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 8:09 am

    • Stuck with another loss
Puk (0-8) took the loss Monday as the Marlins fell to the Cardinals in 12 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits in an inning of relief.

Advice: With the score tied 5-5, Puk got the call in the top of the 12th and served up what proved to be a game-winning two-run homer to Masyn Winn. The southpaw has pitched better since shifting back to the bullpen, and over his last 10 appearances he's posted a 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB through 10.1 innings, but he has only one hold -- and three losses -- during that stretch. • Ready for rehab assignment
Faedo (hip) is scheduled to join Triple-A Toledo this week to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Faedo has been on the injured list for just under two weeks with right hip inflammation, so he'll likely need just one or two rehab appearances before he's cleared to rejoin the Detroit bullpen. After being deployed mostly in middle relief or long relief earlier in the season, Faedo had moved his way into higher-leverage spots prior to landing on the IL. In his last 11 appearances before being deactivated, Faedo notched one win and six holds. Rotowire.com Today, 7:34 am
