    • Swats pair of doubles Saturday
Garver went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and another two-bagger in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Garver plated Jorge Polanco with his fourth-inning double, giving him his fourth RBI over the last seven games. The veteran offseason acquisition's solid performance Saturday notwithstanding, the early portion of his Mariners tenure qualifies as a considerable disappointment that's illustrated by his anemic .152/.262/.315 slash line and 32.7 percent strikeout rate across 107 plate appearances. • Blows game open with grand slam
Naylor went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 7-1 victory against the Angels.

Advice: The contest was relatively close heading into the bottom of the sixth frame, as Cleveland held a narrow 3-1 lead. However, Angels starter Reid Detmers walked three batters in the inning, and Naylor made him pay for the wildness by crushing a two-out grand slam. The homer nearly doubled Naylor's season RBI total from five to nine, and it snapped a 15-game stretch without a long ball. Aside from Saturday's big blast, it's been a pretty rough season for the backstop, as he's slashing just .183/.280/.305 with a massive 38.7 percent strikeout rate through 93 plate appearances. • Bo Naylor crushes grand slam, Guardians rout Angels
Bo Naylor walloped a grand slam on Saturday, leading the Guardians to a decisive 7-1 victory over the Angels.

Advice: Naylor’s first career grand slam came off Angels starter Reid Detmers in the sixth inning and wound up putting the contest away for good. It was his third big fly of the season and first time he’s left the yard since April 10. The 24-year-old former top prospect has gotten off to an extremely slow start this season at the plate, but continues to play regularly as Cleveland’s backstop of the future. • Getting Wednesday off
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Naylor started at catcher in each of the past three games, so he's presumably just getting a rest day Wednesday. David Fry will get the nod behind the plate in Naylor's place. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:06 pm

    • Day off Wednesday
Garver is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Garver looks to be getting a routine day off for the series finale. With Garver on the bench, Cal Raleigh will serve as Seattle's designated hitter, while Seby Zavala steps in as the Mariners' starting catcher. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:44 am

    • Wins game with walk-off homer
Garver went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Monday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: It's been a rough season for Garver, as he's slashing just .150/.266/.313 through 94 plate appearances. However, Seattle has stuck with him as the team's primary DH, and that decision paid off Monday when he launched a two-run, ninth-inning shot to give the Mariners a come-from-behind win. Garver could be building a bit of momentum, as he's gone deep in two of his past four games. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:57 pm

    • Mitch Garver hits walk-off homer to beat Atlanta
Mitch Garver hit a walk-off two-run homer to give Seattle a 2-1 win over Atlanta on Monday.

Advice: Garver has easily his biggest hit as a member of the Mariners. The 33-year-old DH took a 3-2 offering from AJ Minter deep into the left-field stands with the team trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth to give Seattle an improbable victory. Garver has been awful in 2024 with a .150 average, but it didn’t matter tonight. It likely won’t matter as long as he can stay healthy; the offensive track-record suggests more good things are coming. Rotoworld Monday, 9:15 pm

    • Mitch Garver swats solo homer against D-Backs
Mitch Garver hit a solo homer in a victory Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Both Mitch’s did well for the Mariners on Friday, as Mitch Haniger hit a grand slam to go along with Garver’s shot. It’s just the second homer of the season for the 33-year-old, as he’s been awful to begin 2024 as seen in a slash of .143/.265/.271. Based on his previous seasons, it seems very likely those numbers bounce back in the coming weeks, if not sooner. Rotoworld Apr 26, 9:02 pm

    • Out of lineup again Friday
Naylor is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: It's the second straight game on the bench for the left-handed hitting Naylor, with this one coming against southpaw Chris Sale. Austin Hedges will do the catching for Logan Allen. Rotowire.com Apr 26, 12:55 pm
