    • Jack Flaherty strikes out six, allows two runs vs. CLE
Jack Flaherty yielded two earned runs and struck out six batters in six innings on Monday in a loss against the Guardians.

Advice: It would’ve been nonsense to think Flaherty could match his last outing of 14 punch outs, but the 28-year-old pitched well against the Guardians and now has six or more strikeouts in five straight starts. The right-hander allowed his first of two runs in the first inning off a single from Will Brennan. He didn’t allow another run until his last inning when José Ramírez took him deep in the sixth. Flaherty’s next start will be at home against the Astros. Rotoworld Today, 5:40 pm

    • Extends winning streak
Kremer (3-2) yielded a hit and a walk over six shutout innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Reds.

Advice: Kremer retired the first 13 batters he faced before putting two straight runners on in the fifth inning. He avoided any damage and cruised to his third straight victory. During the win streak, he's posted an impressive 1.96 ERA and 20:6 K:BB through 18.1 frames. Kremer forced 13 whiffs Sunday, including seven with his four-seam fastball. He'll carry a 3.57 ERA into his next start, which is projected to be at home against Arizona. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:55 pm
    • Dean Kremer dominates Reds on Sunday
Dean Kremer threw six shutout innings against the Reds on Sunday, allowing one hit while striking out six.

Advice: It was a masterful performance. Kremer posted a 33 percent CSW and 37 percent whiff rate, highlighted by seven whiffs on 13 swings on his four-seam fastball. Kremer leaned heavily on the cutter on Sunday and danced around the zone, throwing less than 50 percent of pitches in the strike zone, but he got the Reds to chase. Kremer now has a 3.57 ERA on the year and can certainly be started next week against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:43 pm
    • Solid over six frames versus Boston
Ryan (1-2) was tagged with the loss after he pitched six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five batters in Sunday's 9-2 defeat to the Red Sox.

Advice: Ryan tossed three scoreless frames to open his outing Sunday before giving up an RBI double to Rob Refsnyder in the fourth and then a two-run homer to Ceddanne Rafaela in the fifth inning. The right-hander has now recorded three straight quality starts, and he has yet to allow more than three runs in any outing this season. Ryan will carry a 3.54 ERA and 1.01 WHIP into his next projected start Friday in Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:17 pm

    • Reaches double digits in saves
Clase picked up the save Sunday against the Angels, striking out two over a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Clase made quick work of Willie Calhoun, Brandon Drury and Matt Thaiss on Sunday, needing just 10 pitches to retire the side and pick up his 10th save of the campaign. Clase is one of five closers in double figures in the saves category and has walked just one batter across 17.1 innings of action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:07 pm

    • Resumes throwing program
Rodriguez (shoulder) played catch from 60-to-75 feet Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Rodriguez landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation following his April 29 start against the Yankees, and he ended up being shut down from throwing for only a few days. The right-hander could soon ramp up to bullpen sessions, and it remains to be seen if he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining Baltimore's rotation. • Joe Ryan gets loss after quality start
Joe Ryan pitched six innings and allowed three runs Sunday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Ryan still hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a start and he’s completed six innings five times, but all he has to show for it is a 1-2 record to go along with his 3.54 ERA and 46/6 K/BB ratio. He’ll get the Blue Jays next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm

    • Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) throws from 75 feet
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) was able to throw off flat ground Sunday.

Advice: Orioles pitching coach Drew French told reporters that Rodriguez threw from 60-75 foot away and that it was a “good day” for him. The right-hander has been on the shelf since May 1 with shoulder inflammation, and while there’s no timetable for his return, it’s certainly a positive development that he’s able to throw a few days later. • Brilliant in no-decision
Jones did not factor into the decision in Saturday's win against the Rockies. He allowed one hit and no walks while striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: The 22-year-old right-hander bounced back from a rather modest showing his last time out, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts. Jones got 17 swings and misses on 96 pitches and touched 100 mph with his heater a couple times. While he has a losing record at 2-3, Jones is off to a historically great start to his career. He became the first pitcher in Pirates history with an outing consisting of seven shutout innings, one hit or fewer allowed, 10 strikeouts and zero walks Saturday, and per MLB's Sarah Langs, Jones is the first pitcher since at least 1901 with 50-plus strikeouts and five or fewer walks in his first seven career starts.
