    • Colt Keith collects two hits in loss to Astros
Colt Keith went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles as the Tigers were shut out by the Astros on Friday evening in Houston.

Advice: As a team, the Tigers were only able to muster five total hits against Hunter Brown and company on Friday night, with Keith the only member of the squad to have more than one. The 22-year-old’s bat has started to heat up after a miserable start to his MLB career, but he’s still slashing an underwhelming .222/.273/.284 with just two homers, 19 RBI and three stolen bases in 60 games on the season. • Nolan Jones (back, knee) rejoins Rockies on Friday
Rockies activated OF Nolan Jones from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old has been sidelined since April 29 due to back and knee issues, but is finally ready to return to the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, he was hitting a paltry .170/.243/.277 with one homer, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 26 ballgames. Jones will start in left field and bat fifth against Carmen Mlodzinski and the Pirates on Friday evening at Coors Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm
    • Reinstated from IL
Jones (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Jones landed on the injured list April 30 due to back stiffness. His initial rehab assignment was halted May 21 due to right knee soreness stemming from a slide, but he was able to resume activities June 3. Across his 12 rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, Jones went 9-for-42 with six runs, one home run and six RBI. He is starting in left field and batting fifth for Friday's game against the Pirates. To make room for Jones, Colorado placed Elias Diaz on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:32 pm
    • Takes live BP
Jung (wrist) took live batting practice Thursday, Kenndi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The third baseman saw pitches from Tyler Mahle (elbow) as they both continue their rehabs. The next step for Jung is a trip to Triple-A Round Rock to continue live BP before he officially begins a rehab assignment, and he remains on track to return before the end of the month. • Slugs eighth homer
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn opened the scoring in the contest with a solo homer to center field in the third inning and later produced the game-winning RBI with a run-scoring groundout in the 10th. The first baseman has been swinging a hot bat of late with six multi-hit efforts over his past 10 contests. Vaughn has reached safely via hit or walk in 14 consecutive games and is slashing .327/.373/.600 with four homers, seven RBI and 10 runs over that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:23 am

    • Andrew Vaughn homers, plates game-winner in 10th
Andrew Vaughn homered and drove in the game-winning run Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. went back-to-back in the third inning to give the White Sox a 2-0 lead. He also hit into a fielder’s choice in the 10th that score what ended up being the game-winning run. The first baseman has now homered eight times in 2024, and he’s started to swing the bat at a much better level in June with a slash of .361/.395/.667 over the month. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:23 pm

    • Goes six innings in loss
Keller (8-4) was charged with the loss after he allowed four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts over six innings Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Keller's four earned runs allowed tied a season high, but he still managed to extend a streak of seven straight starts of at least six innings. He gave up a homers to Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan, making it the first time this season he's allowed multiple long balls in a game. The 28-year-old has a 3.36 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 78:22 K:BB across 85.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:15 pm

    • Mitch Keller gives up first homers in five weeks
Mitch Keller lost to the Cardinals after giving up four runs in six innings Thursday.

Advice: Keller had gone five straight starts without allowing a homer and hadn’t yielded more than one in any outing this season, but both Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan left the yard against him today. It’s the first time he’s given up more than two runs since Apr. 30. He’s now 8-4 with a 3.36 ERA. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:57 pm

    • Sitting against left-hander
Keith is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Southpaw Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Keith will begin the contest on the bench. Andy Ibanez will handle second base for the Tigers. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:59 am
