    • Max Scherzer expected to join Rangers’ rotation
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Sunday that as long as Max Scherzer bounces back alright following his minor league rehab start on Saturday, he’ll join the Rangers’ rotation and make his 2024 regular season debut during the upcoming week.

Advice: Scherzer threw 79 pitches (55 strikes) over 4 2/3 innings in his final minor league tune-up at Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday — giving up three runs on four hits and a pair of walks while punching out eight batters. He should slot into the Rangers’ rotation at some point during their weekend series against the Royals. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:49 pm

    • Getting rest Sunday
Gurriel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Gurriel will receive a routine day off after he had started in each of Arizona's last seven games. Jake McCarthy will shift over from his usual spot in right field to cover left field in Gurriel's stead. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:20 pm
    • Finnegan picks up 20th save Sunday
Kyle Finnegan threw a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: The save was Finnegan’s 20th of the season. He’s only blown two save opportunities so far this season and lowered his ERA to 1.78. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in fantasy this year.

    • Thomas hits home run for third consecutive game
Lane Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: It’s Thomas’ third consecutive game with a home run. He now has seven total on the year. Thomas has been hot over his last 10 games going 10-for-37 (.351) to bring his season average to .238. He stole 11 bases in 22 games in April, but has just five steals in 20 games since.

    • Lourdes Gurriel gets Sunday off vs. White Sox
Lourdes Gurriel is not in the starting lineup against the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Gurriel will get the day off for the series finale against the White Sox. While he rests, Randal Grichuk will get a start; something that doesn’t typically happen against right-hander hurlers. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:45 am
    • Back in lineup as DH
Perez (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Perez is battling a right knee sprain, but it's said to be relatively minor. He'll play through the injury Sunday, albeit in a non-defensive role. It's uncertain when he may return to catching duties. The team recalled Austin Nola from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, and Nola's presence on the roster affords Perez and the Royals some time to get him right before he slots back in behind the plate. • Salvador Perez (knee) back in lineup Sunday
Salvador Perez (knee) is back in the lineup as the designated hitter Sunday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Perez was removed Friday after experiencing discomfort in his right knee, and while the backstop did miss Saturday’s game, he’s feeling well enough to be the designated hitter and hit cleanup against the Dodgers in the final game of the three-game set. Great news for all parties involved. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:16 am

    • Rebounds with win, quality start
Morton (4-3) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Morton had his swing-and-miss stuff working, racking up 22 whiffs among his 105 pitches. The veteran hurler fell behind by a run in the first inning but yielded only two hits while holding the Rays scoreless thereafter. This was a nice bounce-back for Morton after he surrendered five runs (four earned) over five innings against Washington in his previous start. Saturday's victory was his first since May 10, and it was just his second quality start across six outings during that span. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:19 pm

    • Charlie Morton has vintage performance in win
Charlie Morton allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Morton looked like his old self, striking out eight and walking two. He induced 22 whiffs on 49 swings for a ridiculous 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. It was perhaps the 40-year-old’s best start of the season, and he’ll look to keep it going next week in a tough showdown against the Yankees. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:02 pm
