      Advice: Wacha kept the Tigers off the board until Kerry Carpenter took him deep with a solo shot in the fourth inning. Colt Keith later added an RBI double in the seventh. Wacha has turned in three straight quality starts and earned a win in each one. Before this hot streak, he went 0-4 with a 7.01 ERA over a five-start span.     • Wacha picks up fourth win Monday
      Michael Wacha allowed two runs in seven innings and picked up the win in the Royals’ 8-3 victory over the Tigers on Monday.



      Advice: The win was Wacha’s fourth of the season. He allowed six hits, a walk, and struck out three. The Tigers only runs against Wacha came on a Kerry Carpenter solo home run in the fourth inning and a Colt Keith RBI double in the seventh inning. Wacha’s ERA is now 4.45 on the season. So far he’s rewarded fantasy managers that picked him up for his two-start week. The 32-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rays on the road this weekend.

    • Takes loss in extra frame
      Diaz (1-3) took the loss in 10 innings Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing an unearned run on one hit and a walk over an inning of work. He also struck out a batter.

      Advice: Diaz struck out Jason Heyward in the ninth to send the game into an extra frame. He was an out away from getting through the 10th, but Shohei Ohtani laced a base hit to right that scored Heyward to end the game. Diaz has now given up five total runs on four hits over his last 2.1 innings, which has also come with two losses and a blown save. He's given up nine runs in 4.2 innings in May. Despite the struggles, manager David Bell has not made any public comments about a possible closer change, suggesting Diaz's job is save for now.       Darvish (4-1) got the win over Atlanta on Sunday night, throwing seven shutout innings while allowing just two hits and a walk. He struck out nine.

      Advice: Darvish continued his excellent run since returning from the injured list April 30 and is now up to 25 straight scoreless innings, having last given up a run April 14. He had one instance with facing runners in scoring position after a first inning double by Marcell Ozuna. He ended his night by retiring the last 13 batters he faced in order and generated a season-high nine strikeouts while getting 14 whiffs on 99 pitches. Darvish also picked up career win No. 200 and will take an excellent 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 46:13 K:BB into his next start, which lines up to be against the Yankees during a weekend series.       Yu Darvish delivered a dominant performance in Sunday night’s victory over the Braves, piling up nine strikeouts over seven innings of scoreless baseball.

      Advice: The 37-year-old right-hander gave up just two hits on the evening while allowing one base on balls. Only once did the Braves put a man in scoring position against him, and that was on Marcell Ozuna’s two-out double in the opening inning. He finished his night by retiring the final 13 hitters that he faced in order. Darvish got 14 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He now boasts a 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and a 46/13 K/BB ratio over 47 2/3 innings through his first nine starts on the season.     • Blows save, takes loss Saturday
      Finnegan (1-3) took the loss and blew a save against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk over 1.2 innings.

      Advice: Finnegan was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and got two outs before serving up a game-tying solo homer to Kody Clemens. The contest went into an extra frame, and after Washington failed to score in the top of the 10th, Finnegan was tagged with the loss when Bryce Harper plated the automatic runner on a sacrifice fly. The blown save was just the second for Finnegan this year, with the other coming all the way back on March 31.       Gausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season.       Kyle Finnegan blew his second save of the season against the Phillies on Saturday.



      Advice: Finnegan had two outs in the bottom of the ninth when he allowed a game-tying solo home run to Kody Clemens. Finnegan took the loss as he allowed another run on a game-winning sacrifice fly by Bryce Harper in the 10th inning. He entered play Saturday leading the league with 13 saves, but he was probably due to give up some runs as his ERA is 1.89 but his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.72.

    • San Diego-Atlanta game postponed
      Darvish and the Padres will not play Saturday after their game in Atlanta was postponed due to inclement weather.
