    • Byron Buxton on the bench on Monday
Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup for the Twins against the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: Buxton is hitting just .223/.276/.357 in 47 games with three home runs and three steals. He’s sporting a 31 percent strikeout rate and is just 3-for-26 to start June. At 30 years old, after multiple injury-plagued seasons, it’s possible Buxton will never recapture the form he showed in his earlier seasons. Manuel Margot will start in center field for the Twins on Monday, and, Buxton does not need to be held in shallow fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Monday, 12:38 pm

Advice: Buxton is slashing just .185/.243/.308 in 19 games since coming off the injured list May 18 and is only 3-for-26 with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate so far in June. Manuel Margot will get the call in center field for the Twins on Monday. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:37 pm

    • Swipes bag
Buxton went 0-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Buxton went hitless but managed to reach base on a hit-by-pitch in the 10th inning. He recorded his third stolen base in five tries this season and his first since May 28. Buxton has had a brutal start to the month of June, batting just .115 (3-for-26) with one RBI, one run scored and one stolen base. The 30-year-old continues to start in center field for the Twins due to his defensive prowess, but he has not been a reliable option for fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:21 pm

    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drives in two in win over Pads
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBI on Sunday as the Diamondbacks throttled the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder smacked a two-run double off of Adam Mazur in the second inning and rode home on Jake McCarthy’s two-run blast. He also singled in the fourth inning and raced around to score on a two-out RBI single by Eugenio Suarez. With his two-hit attack, Gurriel is now hitting .247/.287/.405 with nine homers, 39 RBI and three swipes on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:21 pm

    • Lifts ninth homer
Gurriel went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Gurriel has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 10-for-37 (.270) with three homers in that span. He didn't start Friday, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and delivered with his ninth long ball of the campaign. • Getting day off
Gurriel is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Gurriel will get a breather Friday after making five straight starts in left field. Jake McCarthy will slide to left while Randal Grichuk steps into right field. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:28 pm

    • Belts fourth homer
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: The Nationals' only two runs in the contest came on back-to-back homers by CJ Abrams and Thomas in the sixth inning. The long ball was Thomas' first extra-base hit of any kind since May 29, and he batted just .185 (5-for-27) over that seven-game stretch. Since returning May 27 from a lengthy stay on the injured list, Thomas is batting .250 with two homers, six RBI, six runs and four stolen bases over 11 contests. • Getting breather
Buxton isn't in the Twins' lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Buxton has gone hitless in 14 at-bats since the beginning of June, and the Twins will give him a day off to regroup during Thursday's series finale. Willi Castro will fill the opening in center field, allowing Kyle Farmer to start at second base while batting eighth. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:12 am

    • Homers in two straight
Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Gurriel led off the second inning with a home run, his eighth of the season, to give Arizona an early lead. It was the second consecutive game in which he homered in his first plate appearance. The outfielder has a modest six-game hit streak, going 6-for-24 during that stretch. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:41 am
