    • Getting breather Thursday
Rizzo isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Rizzo owns a .351 OPS across his past six games, so the Yankees will give him a rare day off Thursday so he can clear his head. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base while Oswaldo Cabrera starts at the hot corner, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:26 pm
    • Another day, another homer
Seager went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Seager, whom the Diamondbacks chose to issue an intentional walk with runners on in the third inning, didn't get a free pass in the fifth inning and paid for it. He got a hold of a first-pitch cutter and sent it over the fence in right field. It was his eighth home run over the last eight games and extended a hit streak to 12 contests. • Stuffs stat sheet in victory
Thomas went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run, a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-2 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Washington was being shut out by rookie hurler Spencer Schwellenbach until Thomas tagged him for a three-run homer in the fifth inning. That was the biggest highlight of a very productive performance by the outfielder, who added a couple cherries on top with a pair of steals in the ninth frame. This was Thomas' third game back since missing over a month while on the injured list, and he's gone 5-for-13 with four extra-base hits since his return. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:20 pm

    • Still not swinging
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Muncy is on a "slow program" due to lingering oblique soreness and isn't currently swinging a bat, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy resumed baseball activities last Tuesday, but his progress has since been slowed by continued soreness in his oblique. The third baseman is already eligible to be activated off the IL, but given Roberts' comments, it doesn't seem like Muncy is on the cusp of returning. He'll almost certainly head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to rejoining Los Angeles' lineup. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:10 pm

    • Reaches 10-homer mark
Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Twins.

Advice: Perez has hit safely in five straight games, going 6-for-21 (.286) in that span. The homer was his first since May 20 and his 10th of the year. He also crossed the 40-RBI mark Wednesday, getting him past halfway to matching his total of 80 RBI over 140 contests last year. The catcher is slashing .325/.386/.537 through 55 games in 2024. • Lane Thomas homers, steals two bases
Lane Thomas went 3-for-4 with a go-ahead three-run home run, double, walk, two runs scored, and two stolen bases in the Nationals win over the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: Thomas has been scorching hot since coming off the IL on Monday going 5-for-13 with four extra-base hits. The stolen bases were his first two since being activated and pushed his total up to 13 on the year despite missing more than a month. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:36 pm

    • Corey Seager hits eighth homer in last eight games
Corey Seager homered for the third consecutive contest on Wednesday, and eighth time over his last eight games, powering the Rangers to a 6-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Seager remained sizzling-hot at the dish on Wednesday afternoon at Globe Life Field in a rematch of last year’s Fall Classic, taking Arizona starter Ryne Nelson out to right field in the fifth inning for a two-run blast. It was his 13th round-tripper of the season and lone hit in three at-bats in this one, although he did manage to draw a free pass as well. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar has gone deep a whopping eight times over his last eight games since May 19. He’s raised his full-season OPS from .681 to .828 during that span. Unreal. • Day off Wednesday
Buxton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though Buxton played the entirety of Tuesday's 4-2 win and reached base four times while adding a steal, his knee collided with the left shin of the Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino in the third inning, when Buxton was running down the first-base line. The Twins haven't indicated that Buxton is dealing with anything more than minor wear and tear a day later, but he'll be given some rest Wednesday in any case. Minnesota will go with Willi Castro in center field against Kansas City starting pitcher Seth Lugo. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:39 pm

    • Nolan Arenado gets scheduled day off
Nolan Arenado is out of the Cardinals lineup Wednesday in what manager Oli Marmol said was a day off scheduled long ago.

Advice: It’s apparently very important to note that this is not a reaction to Arenado’s lengthy slump, and last night’s homer didn’t result in a change of heart and putting him into the lineup today. Brendan Donovan is starting at third base, and Matt Carpenter is getting a start at DH. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:26 am
