    • Taking dry swings
Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return. He hasn't played in a game since May 15 and will likely need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

    • Sitting again Saturday
Seager (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Seager will sit for a second straight game after injuring his left hamstring Wednesday against the Tigers. Like Friday, Seager will be available to pinch hit Saturday, per Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com. Josh Smith will shift over to shortstop while Ezequiel Duran gets the start at third base against Giants right-hander Spencer Howard. Rotowire.com Today, 9:42 am

    • Corey Seager out Saturday due to hamstring injury
Corey Seager (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Giants.

Advice: The encouraging news here for fantasy managers is that Seager hasn’t landed on the injured list yet after suffering a mild left hamstring injury earlier this week. The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart will miss his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon and remains day-to-day for now. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this weekend if he’s unable to get back in the lineup. Rotoworld Today, 9:41 am

    • Escapes with 13th save
Diaz gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his 13th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He struck out one.

Advice: The right-hander made things difficult once again, issuing a free pass with two outs before a Miguel Amaya double brought the tying run to the plate. Diaz was able to strike out Patrick Wisdom to end the game, however. Diaz has walked a batter in four straight appearances, but he's successfully converted six straight save chances. On the season, he carries a rough 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB through 24.1 innings, but for now the Reds are willing to let him work through his control issues. • IL stint not expected
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (hamstring) is not expected to require a stint on the injured list, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Seager injured his hamstring Wednesday and sat out Friday's game after Thursday's off-day. Bochy doesn't anticipate an IL stint, but Seager might need a couple of days to get back to the field. Rotowire.com Today, 6:25 am

    • Lifts ninth homer
Gurriel went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Gurriel has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 10-for-37 (.270) with three homers in that span. He didn't start Friday, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and delivered with his ninth long ball of the campaign. The outfielder has added 37 RBI, 29 runs scored, three stolen bases and a .239/.282/.399 slash line over 252 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:53 pm
    • Knocked around in no-decision
Lynn did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-5 win over the Rockies, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Lynn entered this start on a roll, tossing a 0.56 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 16 innings in his last three starts, but couldn't control a shaky Colorado lineup. This marks the fifth time the 37-year-old veteran has allowed four earned runs in an outing this year. His ERA now stands at 3.58 with a 1.38 WHIP in 65.1 innings. Lynn is scheduled to make his next start at home against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:00 pm

    • Lance Lynn gives up four over four in no-decision
Lance Lynn was charged for four runs in four innings in a no-decision Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: All four runs came in the fourth inning, and all on the same play. With the bases loaded, Lynn allowed a three-run triple to Michael Toglia, and Toglia picked up a Little League grand slam as he scored on an error. Lynn struck out six and walked two in a mediocre — at best — effort Friday night. His next start comes Thursday against the Pirates, assuming the rotation order stays the same. • Anthony Rizzo goes 0-for-5 in loss to Dodgers
Anthony Rizzo popped out with the tying run on base to conclude a Yankees loss and an 0-for-5 game against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: The Yankees might want to give one of their outfielders a crash course at first base with Rizzo showing no sign of turning things around and Jasson Domínguez making strides in his return from Tommy John. Rizzo has opened June 1-for-25, putting him at .228/.289/.344 for the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm
