    • Bryan Reynolds pushes hit streak to 21 straight
Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 21 consecutive games on Monday in the Pirates’ loss to the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also drew a walk, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances in a one-sided affair. The 29-year-old outfielder is batting .315 (39-for-124) with seven homers and one steal over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Monday, 7:18 pm
    • Excluded from lineup vs. lefty
Benson (elbow) is out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates.

Advice: Benson will take a seat for the series opener versus the Pirates after he exited late in the Reds' 7-4 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday, when he was struck in the left elbow by a pitch. He's day-to-day after X-rays returned negative, but even if he was 100 percent, the lefty-hitting Benson likely would have been on the bench anyway with the Pirates sending southpaw Bailey Falter to the mound. Benson has recorded just four hits in 42 at-bats versus lefties this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:34 pm

    • Not starting Monday
Fraley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Fraley will hit the bench for the second game in a row, with his absence Monday most likely being the result of the Pirates bringing southpaw Bailey Falter to the hill. Fraley owns a modest .655 OPS overall in June, but that should be enough for him to retain a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching while the Reds continue to get hit hard by the injury bug. Starting outfielder TJ Friedl (hamstring) joined Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) and Matt McLain (shoulder) on the injured list Monday, while Will Benson (elbow) is day-to-day. • Cardinals officially activate Contreras off the IL
Cardinals activated C Willson Contreras (forearm) off the 10-day IL.

Advice: It was a quick turnaround for Contreras who had surgery back in early May to repair a fractured left forearm when he was hit by J.D. Martinez’s swing. We should expect the Cardinals to ease Contreras in during the first couple of weeks with an extra day off or two, but his bat will be a welcome addition to the Cardinals’ lineup and fantasy lineups as well. Nick Raposo has been optioned to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Monday, 12:43 pm

    • Returns from injured list
The Cardinals activated Contreras (forearm) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at catcher and bat third in the Cardinals' series opener versus Atlanta.

Advice: Contreras was initially expected to miss around 10 weeks after he suffered a fractured left forearm in early May, but he'll make it back from the IL in just six and a half weeks. The Cardinals could manage Contreras' workload carefully as he settles back in with the big club, but fantasy managers should feel free to activate ahead of this week's action. Contreras posted a .950 OPS with six home runs over 31 games before getting injured. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:40 pm

    • Heston Kjerstad starting over Cowser on Monday
Colton Cowser is on the bench on Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: After the Orioles called up Heston Kjerstad on Monday, they will now insert him into the starting lineup and move Cowser to the bench. In 46 games since May 1st, Cowser is hitting .182/.285/.299 with a 29 percent strikeout rate, so the Orioles may be willing to move him to the bench full-time to see if Kjerstad can provide them more offense. Rotoworld Monday, 12:14 pm
    • Sitting in favor of Kjerstad
Cowser is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Cowser will take a seat against a right-handed starter (Tanner Bibee) for the third time in five games. Though the Orioles haven't publicly said that Cowser -- who is batting .175 in June -- will see fewer opportunities moving forward, the promotion of Heston Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday wouldn't seem to be a positive development for Cowser's outlook. Kjerstad will enter the Baltimore lineup right away Monday, covering Cowser's typical spot in left field while batting fifth. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:54 am
    • Expected back Monday
Contreras (forearm) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game versus Atlanta, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Contreras has played six rehab games with Triple-A Memphis, catching three games and serving as the designated hitter in three others. He's gone just 3-for-21 at the plate in those contests, but the Cardinals are more concerned with how he's feeling and reports on that are favorable. Contreras was initially supposed to be out until around the All-Star break when he fractured his left forearm in early May but will beat that timetable by a few weeks. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:45 am

    • X-rays on elbow negative
Benson was removed from Sunday's 7-4 loss to Boston after getting hit by a pitch on the inside of his left elbow, MLB.com reports. X-rays following the game came back negative.

Advice: Benson was plunked during the bottom of the eighth inning and stayed in the game to run, but he was replaced by Nick Martini for the top of the ninth. Prior to leaving, Benson went 0-for-3, running his hitless streak to a career-high 21 at-bats. It's unclear if the injury will force Benson to miss much action, but it's unlikely he will be in the lineup Monday against Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter. The lefty-hitting Benson doesn't get many opportunities against southpaws, against whom he's batting .095 (4-for-42) this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:36 am
