• Yordan Alvarez knocks in three in Astros’ win
Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk versus the Angels in Friday’s win.

Advice: Alvarez is 10-for-23 with three homers and nine RBI in six games this month, raising his OPS from .792 to .851. It’d be a big surprise if he’s not one of the AL’s best hitters the rest of the way. Rotoworld 3 minutes ago

  • Tallies three RBI in win
Carlson went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Friday's victory over Colorado.

Advice: Carlson enjoyed his best game of the season, notching three RBI in a contest for the first time since June 20, 2023. The 25-year-old outfielder tied the game in the sixth with an RBI single before knocking a decisive two-run double in the eighth to extend the St. Louis lead to 8-5. Perhaps this success will spur on Carlson as he entered the night slashing .128/.241/.128 over 54 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Pops fourth homer
Robert went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Robert did his damage in the opening inning to tally his fourth home run of the season and second in four games since returning from the injured list. Manager Pedro Grifol suggested that Robert would require regular rest days, though he has started every matchup since being activated and has gone a combined 3-for-16 with eight strikeouts. • Quick absence expected
Pham (ankle) was scheduled to start running again Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pham hit the injured list Tuesday after suffering a sprained ankle Sunday. However, manager Pedro Grifol noted that Pham already feels better and is only expected to be on the injured list for the short term. He can be activated as early as June 13, though it's unclear if that is a realistic timeline. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Back in majors
The Astros recalled Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kyle Tucker landed on the injured list earlier Friday due to a bruised shin, so Loperfido will return to Houston to fill the opening in the Astros' outfield group. The 25-year-old played in 14 games for the Astros earlier in the season, slashing .333/.381/.436 with five RBI through 43 plate appearances before being sent back down May 26. He'll likely start often against right-handed pitchers while filling in for Tucker. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

  • Michael Lorenzen lifted in fifth against Giants
Michael Lorenzen surrendered two runs in 4 1/3 innings versus the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen left down 2-0, but the Rangers let him off the hook in the bottom of fifth before going to lose 5-2. It’s the first time in 10 starts this year that Lorenzen has failed to complete five innings and just the second time he hasn’t gone six. He might be booted out of the rotation at some point in the second half if the Rangers ever get completely healthy, but he’s been quite good thus far. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Report: Astros call up Loperfido to replace Tucker
Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that the Astros will call up Joey Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Saturday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Loperfido will replace Kyle Tucker, as Tucker was placed on the injured list prior to Friday’s game versus the Halos due to a shin contusion. Loperfido is considered one of the better hitting prospects in the Houston system, and he more than held his own in his previous stint with the Astros with a slash of .333/.381/.436 over 14 games. He’s certainly worthy of consideration for fantasy players. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Delivers walk-off blast
Bleday went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Bleday's blast was the Athletics' fifth hit of the game, but it was enough to earn a walk-off win. The outfielder is batting .294 (10-for-34) over his last nine contests, but this was his first homer since May 24. For the season, he's at a .246/.328/.469 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored, 18 doubles, three triples and no stolen bases over 65 games. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Pops homer, scores three times
Sheets went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three runs scored and two walks in Friday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Sheets walked and scored in the fourth and eighth innings Friday, sandwiched around his solo shot in the sixth. He was recently stuck in a 33-game skid without a home run but he's gone deep three times over his last 10 games. He bumped his season slash line up to .235/.341/.417 with 21 extra-base hits and 19 runs scored through 220 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 pm
