    • Pete Fairbanks ready to start rehab on Tuesday
Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Advice: The 30-year-old hurler has been out since April 22 due to a nerve-related condition that caused him difficulty in gripping the baseball. He should only need an outing or two there before he’s ready to rejoin the Rays’ bullpen. Rotoworld Friday, 2:27 pm

    • Rehab assignment starting soon
Fairbanks (arm) is set to begin a rehab stint at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday.

Advice: Fairbanks has been dealing with a nerve issue in his throwing arm and after receiving positive results on testing done in late April, he's set to see game action. It's unclear how long his stint in Durham will be, but once Fairbanks is back with the Rays, expect him to reclaim closing duties from Jason Adam and Garrett Cleavinger. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:14 pm

    • MRI comes back clean on Pete Fairbanks’ arm
An MRI on Pete Fairbanks’ right arm came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Fairbanks landed on the injured list earlier this week with an undisclosed nerve-related condition, so it’s at least an encouraging development that additional imaging didn’t turn up any structural damage. The 30-year-old righty has indicated that his latest issue is unrelated to previous flareups of Raynaud’s syndrome that he’s dealt with. Given the uncertainty surrounding his diagnosis, there isn’t a clear timetable for his return. Rotoworld Apr 27, 8:14 am

    • Tests come back clean
Fairbanks (arm) has no structural damage to his arm, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Fairbanks had an MRI done Tuesday and then had unspecified additional testing done later in the week. All exams came back clean, which is good news and provides some optimism that he'll avoid a lengthy absence. However, both Fairbanks and the team have cautioned that he does not have a timeline to be activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com Apr 27, 7:29 am
