    • Bullpen spoils win Tuesday
      Quantrill did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings.

      Advice: Quantrill surrendered a third-inning home run to J.D. Davis and later allowed the A's to scratch across an additional run in the sixth after JJ Bleday tripled before scoring on a wild pitch. Quantrill was in line for a fourth consecutive win after exiting the contest but that eventually spoiled after the bullpen coughed up three runs between the seventh and eighth innings. The 29-year-old nearly matched his season-high in strikeouts. His strikeout rate this season is up to 18.6 percent, which is a significant improvement from 13.1 last year.       Megill gave up a hit and struck out three in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his seventh save of the season in a 7-5 win over the Marlins.

      Advice: After blowing his first save of the season the night before, Megill bounced back and fired 11 of 14 pitches for strikes to get the job done, with five of his fastballs clocking in at 99 mph or higher. The right-hander sports a 1.98 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB through 13.2 innings this season, and with Devin Williams (back) just now beginning to toss a baseball, Megill figures to handle closing duties with Milwaukee for at least another couple months.       Tucker went 2-for-4 with two homers, a walk and three runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Tucker homered in his first at-bat that went 340 feet and would've only been a home run in Houston. He later provided a no-doubter in the seventh to knot things up at 5-5 that would wind up sending the game to extra innings. Tuesday was his fourth multi-homer game of the season and he's now back to leading the league with 17 while his 1.074 OPS only trails Shohei Ohtani.       Advice: Pillar took Bryan Abreu deep in the seventh to put the Angels back up 5-4 and extend his hitting streak to eight games. He's been on an absolute tear since signing with the Angels on April 30. In the month of May, Pillar is slashing .426/.460/.766 with four homers, 17 RBI, 12 runs and a 2:9 BB:K through 14 games.       Cal Quantrill yielded two runs in six innings and struck out eight against the A’s on Tuesday.

      Advice: The Rockies ought to be shopping Quantrill now; it’s hard to imagine he’ll have more trade value at the deadline than he does currently with his 3.59 ERA and a 44/21 K/BB ratio in 57 2/3 innings.       Advice: Fry didn't start Tuesday, but he delivered a two-run home run when he pinch hit for Kyle Manzardo in the sixth inning. Over his last 11 games, Fry has gone 10-for-27 (.370) with four homers, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, two stolen bases and an 8:6 BB:K. The 28-year-old is taking advantage of every opportunity he gets despite lacking an everyday spot in the lineup. He's up to a .338/.476/.588 slash line with five homers, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored and three steals over 105 plate appearances this season.       Kyle Tucker hit his 16th and 17th homers before scoring the winning run in the 10th as the Astros bested the Angels 6-5 on Tuesday.

      Advice: Tucker’s homers couldn’t have been much different. The first was a 340-foot shot to the opposite field that would have a homer in Houston and nowhere else, according to Statcast. The second was a no-doubter that was pulled 407 feet to right. Tucker now leads the majors in homers by one over Gunnar Henderson. His 1.074 OPS puts him behind only Shohei Ohtani.
