    • Fans eight in no-decision
Hicks came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 7-2 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The right-hander generated a whopping 19 swinging strikes on 87 pitches in a strong effort, but he left the mound with the Giants down 1-0 before yet another late rally. Hicks has yet to give up more than three earned runs in a start this season, but he's pitched more than five innings only three times in 11 outings, somewhat muting his fantasy appeal in formats that use QS over wins. He'll take a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB through 58 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:56 am

    • Cease strikes out nine in loss Saturday
Dylan Cease allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Cease allowed eight hits, no walks and struck out nine. He’s had two tough starts in a row with difficult matchups against the Braves and Yankees. His ERA has increased from 2.45 to 3.29 in that time. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road next week.

    • Jordan Hicks strikes out eight Mets in no-decision
Jordan Hicks allowed one run with eight strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Hicks allowed just two hits and two walks over five frames on Saturday against the Mets. One of those hits left the yard as Starling Marte took him deep for a solo shot in the second inning. Hicks was otherwise excellent, striking out eight batters on 19 whiffs. His velocity was back up to 95 mph after sitting below 92 mph his last time out. The 27-year-old right-hander has broken out as a starter in San Francisco, posting a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 48/19 K/BB ratio across 58 innings. He lines up for a home matchup against the Yankees on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:54 pm

    • Sharp in first win of 2024
Olson (1-5) picked up the win in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Blue Jays, allowing just an unearned run on three hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Kerry Carpenter launched a two-run homer in the first inning, and it proved to be all the offense that Olson and the Tigers' bullpen would need. The right-hander generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 93 pitches, and while the win was his first of the season, the quality start was his fifth in 10 outings. Olson will take a 1.92 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB through 56.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Boston. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:31 pm

    • Tough-luck loss Saturday
Berrios (5-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits over seven innings as the Blue Jays fell 2-1 to the Tigers. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander was sharp, generating 28 called or swinging strikes among an efficient 83 pitches, but a two-run homer by Kerry Carpenter in the first inning proved to be the difference as Toronto's bats had little success against Reese Olson. The quality start was the third straight for Berrios and his ninth in 11 outings this season, and he'll take a 2.94 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB through 67.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Pirates. • Reese Olson earns first win Saturday vs. Blue Jays
Reese Olson allowed one run -- zero earned -- with four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Olson looked outstanding after leaving his previous start early after taking a comebacker to the hip. He worked around a bases-loaded jam in the fifth to keep the Blue Jays scoreless. A walk and an error put two runners on with one out in the seventh before Olson was relieved by Alex Faedo, who allowed one inherited runner to score. The Tigers would hold on to the lead to give Olson his first win of the season despite an excellent 1.92 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and a 47/19 K/BB ratio across 56 1/3 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Red Sox in Boston on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 12:21 pm

    • José Berríos pitches well in loss to Tigers
José Berríos allowed two runs with five strikeouts over seven innings in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Berríos lone mistake came in the first inning. He gave up a two-out double before Kerry Carpenter took him deep for a two-run homer to give the Tigers the early lead. Berríos settled in for six more scoreless frames, striking out five. He’d take the loss without any run support. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with an outstanding 2.94 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 53/18 K/BB ratio across 67 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Pirates in Toronto on Friday. • Out with triceps strain
The Orioles placed Kremer on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 21, with a right triceps strain.

Advice: The right-hander was scheduled to start Saturday against the White Sox but will now be unavailable for at least the next couple weeks. It's yet another blow to Baltimore's rotation, which also lost John Means to a forearm strain earlier this week. Kremer will be eligible to return in early June, though it's unclear when he's expected to be healthy. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:33 pm

    • Orioles place Dean Kremer (triceps) on 15-day IL
Orioles placed RHP Dean Kremer on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 21, with a right triceps strain.

Advice: Kremer sustained the injury during Monday’s loss to the Cardinals. No word yet on exactly how long he’ll be sidelined for. Dillon Tate was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move to add some depth to the Orioles’ bullpen while they decide how to handle Kramer’s spot in the rotation.
