    • Rehab paused due to stiff neck
      Clevinger's (elbow) next rehab start has been pushed back to next week due to neck stiffness, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

      Advice: Clevinger last pitched with Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, when he allowed five runs and threw 71 pitches over 4.2 innings. The White Sox are hopeful that he will need just one more rehab start before rejoining their rotation, although that will be dependent on how he looks and feels.     • Guardians ink Matthew Boyd to deal
      According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, the Guardians have signed LHP Matthew Boyd to a major league deal, pending a physical.

      Advice: The Boyd Boys are back in business. The left-hander held a showcase with 17 teams on June 8th when he was a little over 11 months removed from Tommy John surgery. He was reportedly sitting 92-93 with his fastball, which was enough to win over the Guardians. The 33-year-old was 5-5 with a 5.45 ERA in 15 starts for the Tigers last season before undergoing surgery, and will almost certainly require a handful of rehab starts before he threatens to take the job of anybody in the Guardians’ rotation.       Phillies recalled RHP Yunior Marte from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

      Advice: Marte was activated off the IL on Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A, but it will be a short stay as he makes his way back to the MLB roster to take the place of Spencer Turnbull, who was placed on the 15-day IL.       Phillies placed RHP Spencer Turnbull on the 15-day IL with a right lat strain.

      Advice: Turnbull was removed from his start on Wednesday after pitching just three innings; however, the right-hander doesn’t think the injury is anything serious. He wanted to tell the Phillies as soon as he felt anything to make sure he didn’t aggravate the soreness he was feeling. There is no timeline yet for his recovery, but Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Michael Mercado would be the number five starter if Turnbull had to miss time.       Advice: This was Curry's first appearance since he was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Monday. He spared the Guardians' bullpen in Wednesday's contest, but solo home runs by Cedric Mullins and Ryan O'Hearn were enough to stick Curry with the loss. The right-hander has struggled in limited major-league action this year with a 5.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 15.2 innings across four appearances (three starts).
