    • Swipes ninth bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Hitting leadoff against Washington lefty MacKenzie Gore, Lindor got right back up after seeing an 11-game hitting streak snapped Sunday. The veteran shortstop has swiped three bags over the last five contests, giving him nine steals on the season, and over his last 15 games, he's slashing .339/.397/.516 with five doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI as he puts a sluggish start to the season behind him. • Homers twice in loss
Gorman went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 7-4 loss to the Astros on Monday.

Advice: Gorman hit solo home runs off Justin Verlander in the first and fifth innings and added a walk in the third. Gorman has been on an absolute binge in his past 10 games, tallying five multi-hit efforts, six home runs and 12 RBI since May 21. On the season, Gorman is now slashing .230/.318/.494 and leads all second basemen in home runs with 13. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:01 pm

    • Swipes 10th bag
Marte went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

Advice: Marte has been on a heater, recording multiple hits four times in his past five games. During that span, the 35-year-old is batting .473 (9-for-19) with four RBI, two steals and three runs scored. Marte is now up to a .275 batting average on the season with six home runs, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored and 10 steals in 224 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm

    • Gorman blasts two home runs Monday
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-3 with a walk and two solo home runs against the Astros on Monday.

Advice: The two home runs give Gorman 13 on the season. He’s now hit three home runs in his last two games. Gorman isn’t going to provide a good average. He’s hitting .230 and his career average is .230. Gorman can hit the stuffing out of the ball, though. He had 27 home runs in 119 games last year and is on pace to push for 30 home runs this year. • Starling Marte posts three hits, steal in victory
Starling Marte went 3-for-5 with a stolen base on Monday in the Mets’ win over the Nationals.

Advice: Marte tallied three singles and also picked up his 10th theft of the season during Monday’s slugfest at Nationals Park. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder is in the midst of an unexpected late-career resurgence as he appears healthy and is really starting to hit his stride at the dish of late, slashing .357/.413/.571 with two homers and two steals over his last 15 games. • Officially sent to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

Advice: Multiple reports after the Tigers' 8-4 win over the Red Sox on Sunday suggested that Torkelson was en route to Triple-A, but Detroit waited until shortly before Monday's series opener in Texas to make the move official. Torkelson slugged 31 home runs last season, and many anticipated another step forward in 2024, but it simply hasn't come together, with the former top prospect slashing just .201/.266/.330 with four home runs across 229 plate appearances. He'll be back in the majors eventually, but a reset at Toledo was deemed necessary. Mark Canha will draw the start at first base Monday, and Gio Urshela will also be an option at the position while Torkelson is out of the picture. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:04 pm

    • Tigers officially demote Torkelson to Triple-A
Tigers optioned 1B Spencer Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Torkelson was outstanding down the stretch for the Tigers last season, but he now has 1,318 major league plate appearances with a .218/.296/.386 line and he’s absolutely not making up for it with his defense. Triple-A is where he belongs right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm

    • Delivers key hits Sunday
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

Advice: Gorman opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the first inning and also provided the Cardinals with their winning run by adding an RBI single in the 10th. This was his fourth multi-hit effort over the last nine games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with four homers and 10 RBI. He's up to a .223/.310/.457 slash line, 11 long balls, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored and two stolen bases through 51 contests. Gorman has been a near-everyday player lately, though the Cardinals called up Jose Fermin on Friday for infield depth, which could lead to Gorman sitting out against some southpaws moving forward. • Coughs up three runs
Cortes allowed three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out seven during the win over San Francisco.

Advice: Cortes gave up a run in each of the second, third and fourth frames Sunday. The latter two were via solo homers by Heliot Ramos and Casey Schmitt. Cortes has been tagged with 10 home runs in 13 starts and has already given up multiple long balls in four outings. Sunday's start was his second shortest of the year, and he's now failed to complete six innings in four of his last five appearances. Cortes owns a 3.46 ERA and a 74:15 K:BB through 75.1 frames. His next start is lined up to be at home against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:57 pm
