    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Ruiz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Ruiz has a .639 OPS in his past 10 games and will head to the bench for the series finale in Tampa Bay. Drew Millas will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty Patrick Corbin. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Progressing, but timeline unknown
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that Bednar is making progress in his recovery from a left oblique strain, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Though Cherington struck an optimistic tone about Bednar's health, the two-time All-Star doesn't appear to have a concrete timeline to return from the 15-day injured list. Bednar is first eligible for activation next weekend, but since he has yet to resume throwing since landing on the shelf, he wouldn't appear on track for a return in the minimum amount of time. • Pitches well in losing effort
Miller (6-7) took the loss against the Twins on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Miller was tagged for runs in the second and fourth innings on three doubles and a single, though the right-hander pitched well outside of those frames while generating 14 whiffs on the night. He also didn't surrender a home run for the third time in his last four starts and has now fanned six batters in three of his six starts this month. Despite the solid outing, Miller was charged with his seventh loss Saturday and has now lost two straight after previously winning three decisions in a row (over five starts). • Hits another key home run
Happ went 1-for-2 with a walk, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Happ broke open a 3-3 tie with his two-run shot in the top of the eighth inning, the outfielder's 11th home run of the season. Two nights earlier, Happ had another big two-run homer, this time to break open a 3-3 tie in the 10th. Overall, the veteran is riding a four-game hitting streak, with the two long balls and five total runs scored during the brief hot stretch, Rotowire.com Today, 5:56 am

    • Bryce Miller strikes out six in loss to Twins
Bryce Miller was charged with two runs over five innings on Saturday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: Miller was simply outdueled by Twins ace Pablo López in this one as he gave up run-scoring hits to Jose Miranda and Byron Buxton in the second and fourth innings, respectively, which were enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring affair at T-Mobile Park. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 25-year-old righty has been pretty consistent this season for fantasy managers with a solid 3.88 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 91/28 K/BB ratio across 97 1/3 innings (17 starts). He’ll face the Orioles on Thursday in his next outing before wrapping up the first half with a road tilt against the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 3:43 am

    • Solo shot in Saturday's loss
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Garcia's blast got the Rangers within a run in the eighth inning, but they failed to tie the game. The outfielder has hit safely in eight of the last nine games, going 10-for-35 (.286) with three homers and four RBI in that span. He's still slashing just .220/.280/.422 on the year with 16 long balls, 44 RBI, 43 runs scored, six stolen bases and 12 doubles across 79 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:21 pm

    • Rare steal in loss
Alonso went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 9-6 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Alonso's steal was just his second of the year, as speed is rarely a factor in his play. He's got plenty of reason to feel optimistic with his performance lately -- the first baseman has gone 15-for-46 (.326) over his last 12 contests while adding 14 RBI in that span. Overall, Alonso is at a .244/.330/.472 slash line with 17 home runs, 46 RBI, 46 runs scored and 19 doubles through 80 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:20 pm

    • Nails down 12th save
Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Mets.

Advice: The Astros' late comeback resulted in a save chance, and Hader converted with ease. He's picked up five saves over 11 outings in June while surrendering four runs and posting a 16:1 K:BB across 10.2 innings for the month. Overall, he's 12-for-13 in save chances with a 3.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 59:11 K:BB through 36.2 innings this season, with the Astros' mediocre play being the main reason for his reduced saves total, though the team is trending up by going 9-2 over the last two weeks. • Struggles early in loss
Cortes (4-7) took the loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Advice: Cortes surrendered a two-run home run to Vladimir Guerrero in the first inning and an RBI double to Alejandro Kirk in the fourth. Cortes had rattled off three consecutive quality starts entering Saturday, but this was also the second time in June the southpaw was unable to complete five innings. On the season, the 29-year-old owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 98:19 K:BB over 105 innings and lines up to face the Red Sox next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:08 pm
