    • Notches third save
Hader issued a walk over one scoreless frame Friday. He struck out two and earned a save over the Mariners.

Advice: Hader needed 22 pitches (13 strikes) to finish off the 5-3 win but still came away with his third save as an Astro. It was his first save since April 19 and he's converted three of his four opportunities so far. He's produced an impressive 23:7 K:BB despite an unsightly 5.93 ERA through 13.2 frames. Hader has punched out seven batters while not allowing an earned run over his last four innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:44 pm

    • Josh Hader locks down third save of season
Josh Hader fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader did walk a batter to put the tying run at the plate, but the left-hander was able to get a pair of strikeouts to lower his ERA to 5.93 and also pick up his third save. Hader should continue to see those save numbers rise while his ERA plummets over the summer months. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:05 pm

    • Strikes out side for 10th save
Finnegan picked up the save over the Rangers on Wednesday, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: The right-hander took over in the bottom of the ninth with a 1-0 lead and ran right through the Rangers lineup, retiring all three batters on swinging strikeouts to secure his 10th save of the season, tying him with Ryan Helsley, Robert Suarez and Clay Holmes for the league lead. Finnegan has successfully converted each of his last nine save attempts and hasn't allowed a hit over his last eight appearances (spanning eight innings), posting a 9:1 K:BB over that stretch. Wednesday also marked his first time this season in which he struck out the side. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:55 am

    • Kyle Finnegan strikes out the side for 10th save
Kyle Finnegan struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Finnegan was called on to close out the game with a one-run lead over the Rangers in the ninth inning. He shut the door on Texas, striking out the side on 13 pitches for his tenth save of the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:27 pm

    • Carlos Estévez gives up two homers in taking loss
Carlos Estévez took his second blown save and a loss after giving up three runs and two homers in the ninth Tuesday against the Mariners.

Advice: The good news for Estévez is that, with Robert Stephenson out for the year and José Soriano in the rotation, he has no competition at the moment. Still, his stuff is definitely down from last year, and he hasn’t shown much improvement there from the beginning of the spring. It’s unlikely that he’ll be replaced right away, but Soriano might eventually supplant him if Chase Silseth rejoins the rotation. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:34 pm
    • Has nightmare ninth
Estevez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia.

Advice: Each of the three hits against Estevez went for extra bases, with Nick Castellanos hitting a solo homer and Johan Rojas bringing in Bryson Stott -- who reached on a ground-rule double -- on a two-run homer to give the Phillies the lead. Estevez has now surrendered one or more runs in three of his last four appearances, a stretch that ballooned his ERA from 0.00 to 6.23 and resulted in a pair of blown saves. While his closing job seems to be safe for now, Matt Moore and Luis Garcia would be the names to know if Estevez begins to cede ninth-inning work. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:22 pm
    • Lands six-out win
Hader (1-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk with four strikeouts over two innings against the Guardians.

Advice: Hader surrendered a double to David Fry in the 10th inning that plated designated runner Josh Naylor as the go-ahead run. Still, Hader ended up with his first victory of the campaign following a Victor Caratini walk-off homer in the home half of the frame. After a bounce-back 2023 season, Hader looks to have regressed to his poor 2022 form (5.22 ERA across 56 appearances), producing a 6.39 ERA across the first 12.2 innings of his Astros tenure. • Duran returns from IL
Jax will likely shift into a setup role since the Twins reinstated Jhoan Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Jax pitched well as the fill-in closer to begin the season with four saves, a 2.25 ERA and 17:4 K:BB across 12 innings, but it appears his time in the role is now up. The right-hander should still see plenty of high-leverage opportunities as a setup man, but his fantasy utility will likely be minimal while Duran is healthy. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:21 am

    • Carlos Estévez gives up run, earns save anyway
Carlos Estévez got a save despite allowing a run in the ninth Monday against the Phillies.

Advice: Estévez gave up a single, a double and a sac fly before finishing off the Phillies tonight. His stuff is worse than it was last year, and we wouldn’t expect much help in ERA and WHIP here. Still, with Robert Stephenson down for the year and José Soriano in the rotation, his closing gig is very secure. Rotoworld Monday, 10:21 pm
