  • Ippei Mizuhara pleads guilty to multiple charges
    Shohei Ohtani’s former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara is pleading guilty to multiple charges including bank fraud and subscribing to a false tax return, according to the Associated Press.

    Advice: Mizuhara has agreed to plead guilty to bank and tax fraud in a case where federal prosecutors allege he stole nearly $17 million from Ohtani to pay off sports gambling debts to an illegal bookmaking operation.     Advice: Urshela has been on the injured list since April 20 due to a strained right hamstring, and he has now been given the go-ahead to test his hamstring in a competitive setting.     The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Andrew Destin reports the Pirates will promote infielder Nick Gonzalez on Friday.

    Advice: Gonzales will get the call back to the majors after batting .358 (43-for-120) with four homers in 137 plate appearances over 30 games this season for Triple-A Indianapolis.
