    • On fire in June
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Vaughn grounded into a pair of fielder's choice outs to tally his two RBI. Though it wasn't a particularly notable performance, he now has five home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored across 14 games in June while also hitting .356. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:53 pm
    • X-rays negative on Pete Fairbanks’ right thumb
X-rays were negative on Pete Fairbanks’ right thumb after he was hit by a comebacker Tuesday.

Advice: Fairbanks is day-to-day. If he can’t close Wednesday, Jason Adam would be the favorite to get the nod in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:23 pm

    • Battling bruised thumb
Fairbanks was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins after getting hit in the right hand by a comebacker, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Fairbanks attempted to field a 103-mph grounder off the bat of Carlos Correa with his bare hand during the ninth inning of Tuesday's contest. The reliever threw multiple warmup pitches in an effort to remain in the game, but the Rays' trainers elected to pull him early. Per Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun, the main concern was with Fairbanks' thumb, but his X-rays came back negative after the game, and he appears to only be dealing with a bruise. It's likely the Rays stay away from using the 30-year-old righty out of the bullpen for the next few days, but a trip to the injured list shouldn't be necessary. • Pete Fairbanks exits after comebacker hits hand
Pete Fairbanks left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning after taking a comebacker off his hand.

Advice: Fairbanks tried some warmup pitches afterwards, but the decision was made to remove him. Hopefully, this will just be a day-to-day injury. Phil Maton replaced him in a tie game. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:48 pm

    • Battling tendinitis
Manager David Bell said Candelario was removed from Tuesday's win over the Pirates due to tendinitis, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Candelario appeared to be in a bit of pain while running the bases during Tuesday's game, eventually leading to his removal during the eighth inning. However, the Reds' skipper noted that the 30-year-old infielder is not at risk of spending time on the injured list, and he seemed confident that the injury will go away relatively quickly. Should Candelario have to miss any games, Santiago Espinal figures to be the next man up to start at third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:09 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario exits game with tendinitis issue
Jeimer Candelario was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Pirates with general fatigue and tendinitis.

Advice: Reds manager David Bell told reporters afterwards that Candelario isn’t in danger of requiring a trip to the injured list. It sounds like more of a day-to-day maintenance issue than anything else. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:28 pm

    • Irvin gives up four runs in loss to Diamondbacks
Jake Irvin allowed four earned runs on eight hits over five innings while striking out two in Tuesday’s loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Irvin allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base, but it was the two-run homer by Ketel Marte that put him in a hole early. Irvin would go on to pitch two scoreless innings before surrendering two more runs in the fifth, which would be his final inning. It was just the second time this year that Irvin has allowed four or more runs in an outing, as he’s been one of the core members of a Nationals rotation that has surprised in the first half of the season. Irvin will look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:15 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario leaves game with apparent injury
Jeimer Candelario was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Pirates with an apparent injury.

Advice: Candelario didn’t look right during an eighth-inning at-bat and was replaced by Spencer Steer at first base in the bottom of the eighth inning. There should be an update on his status soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:45 pm

    • TJ Friedl out Tuesday with hamstring injury
TJ Friedl (hamstring) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Pirates.

Advice: No surprise here after Friedl was forced to leave Monday’s series opener with right hamstring tightness following a stellar defensive play in center field. The 28-year-old outfielder had started 17 consecutive contests since returning from the injured list back on May 29. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. There’s optimism he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list, but that could change if he’s not ready to return in a couple days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:58 pm
