    • Sitting again Saturday
Seager (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Seager will sit for a second straight game after injuring his left hamstring Wednesday against the Tigers. Josh Smith will shift over to shortstop Saturday while Ezequiel Duran gets the start at third base against Giants right-hander Spencer Howard. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Corey Seager out Saturday due to hamstring injury
Corey Seager (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Giants.

Advice: The encouraging news here for fantasy managers is that Seager hasn’t landed on the injured list yet after suffering a mild left hamstring injury earlier this week. The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart will miss his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon and remains day-to-day for now. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this weekend if he’s unable to get back in the lineup. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Escapes with 13th save
Diaz gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his 13th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He struck out one.

Advice: The right-hander made things difficult once again, issuing a free pass with two outs before a Miguel Amaya double brought the tying run to the plate. Diaz was able to strike out Patrick Wisdom to end the game, however. Diaz has walked a batter in four straight appearances, but he's successfully converted six straight save chances. On the season, he carries a rough 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB through 24.1 innings, but for now the Reds are willing to let him work through his control issues. • Fans seven in sixth win
Lodolo (6-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings in a 3-2 victory over the Cubs. He struck out seven.

Advice: The left-hander delivered his second straight quality start and fourth of the season on 99 pitches (61 strikes), and the only real mistake Lodolo made resulted in a Dansby Swanson solo shot in the sixth inning. The seven Ks were the most Lodolo has managed in three starts since returning from a groin strain, but he's won all three of those outings with a 2.08 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next week against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Today, 6:25 am

    • IL stint not expected
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (hamstring) is not expected to require a stint on the injured list, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Seager injured his hamstring Wednesday and sat out Friday's game after Thursday's off-day. Bochy doesn't anticipate an IL stint, but Seager might need a couple of days to get back to the field. Rotowire.com Today, 6:25 am

    • Mashes homer No. 10
Westburg went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: The 25-year-old took Chris Devenski deep in the eighth inning to give Baltimore some insurance runs. Westburg is batting .298 (14-for-47) over his last 12 games, boosting his slash line on the season to .280/.336/.495 with 10 homers, six steals, 32 runs and 38 RBI in 58 contests. • Notches 14th save
Kimbrel worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 14th save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Rays. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

Advice: The veteran closer let his defense do the work, getting outs on a flyball, a groundball and a popup in foul territory. Kimbrel hasn't been tagged with an earned run in 10 straight appearances, converting all six of his save chances during that stretch with a 10:0 K:BB as he puts his early-season struggles behind him. • Breaks slump Friday
Kim went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, one walk and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim went 0-for-10 with two walks over the previous three games before breaking out of the slump Friday. The homer was his eighth of the year but just his second over the last 18 contests. The shortstop has added a .223/.332/.393 slash line with 29 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 stolen bases through 66 games. While his ratios are a bit adrift of his last two seasons, Kim continues to hold down a starting role with solid production in the counting stats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm

    • Sale strikes out 10 in loss to Nationals Friday
Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.
