      Jonah Heim hit a game-tying homer in the ninth Sunday as the Rangers beat the Giants 3-2 in 10 innings.

      Advice: Heim got off to a slow start over the first 10 days, but he’s settled in nicely since, batting .296 with four homers and 16 RBI in his last 21 games. The Rangers have occasionally batted him as low as eighth and ninth, but he was in the fifth spot today against a lefty and he could hit a little higher versus righties with Wyatt Langford out.       Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 and hit his fifth career grand slam Sunday against the Nationals.

      Josh Hader lost after giving up a go-ahead homer in a tie game Sunday against the Mariners.

      Advice: It’s the save situations in which Hader has struggled, but the loss today came after he was asked to preserve a tie. Cal Raleigh’s homer was the second surrendered by Hader in 14 2/3 innings this year.       Steer went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Orioles.

      Advice: Steer's ninth-inning single plated Cincinnati's lone run -- his team-leading 23rd RBI -- and snapped the club's 26-inning scoreless streak at home. The Reds, which started five players batting .200 or lower, have had issues scoring of late, batting .185 with 78 strikeouts over the last eight games (six losses). Steer's .333 average and .639 slugging with runners in scoring position could be more helpful if the Reds can get on base in front of him. The club ranks 27th in MLB with a .292 on-base percentage.       Advice: Pages jumped on a hanging four-seamer from Bryce Elder to lead off the bottom of the fourth and launched it 412 feet into the stands in center field for his fourth home run of the season, and second in his last three games. The rookie outfielder also added a single in the contest, giving him back-to-back multi-hit games. Pages has been on an absolute tear at the plate throughout his now 10-game hitting streak, batting .418 (18-for-43) over that stretch with three homers, nine RBI and nine runs scored.       Ha-Seong Kim launched a three-run homer in the seventh inning on Saturday night, helping to power the Padres to a lopsided victory over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Kim had been hitless in three at-bats entering the seventh inning, but he was able to salvage his night by crushing a 382-foot (97.2 mph EV) three-run blast off of Bryce Jarvis. He also drove in a run with a ground ball in the ninth inning.       Duran gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning Saturday to record his first hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: The right-hander got the call to face the heart of Boston's order in the eighth rather than being held back for the save chance, and he got the job done without issue. Cole Sands then worked the ninth inning for the save. Duran had only one hold last season along with his 27 saves, and Twins manager Rocco Baldelli typically favors set roles in his bullpen over playing matchups in high-leverage spots, so there's no reason yet to assume this is a sign Duran will see less ninth-inning work than expected. He's appeared in three games since making his season debut Tuesday, posting a 5:0 K:BB over three scoreless frames and collecting saves in the other two contests.       Kimbrel was pulled from a save situation in the ninth inning of Saturday's game against the Reds. He allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter in one-third of an inning.

      Advice: The Cincinnati offense had been quiet all night until Kimbrel gave the home team some life in the bottom of the ninth. He allowed three of the four batters he faced to reach base, prompting the hook from manager Brandon Hyde. Yennier Cano took over and closed the door to earn his first save of the season. Kimbrel earned the save Friday in his return following a brief absence due to back tightness, but he had squandered back-to-back save chances before that and Saturday's slip-up puts him on notice with a high-end arm in Cano representing a viable alternative to Kimbrel in the ninth.
