Josh Rojas smacks leadoff homer in loss to D’Backs
Josh Rojas smacked a leadoff home run against his former club on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Mariners to victory over the Diamondbacks.
Advice: Rojas stepped into the leadoff spot over the weekend with J.P. Crawford on the injured list, and he responded by crushing a pair of leadoff home runs — one on Friday night and another to open the home half of the first inning on Sunday. That one, was a 349-foot (102.8 mph EV) blast off of Brandon Pfaadt. Rojas finished the day 1-for-3 and is now hitting .297/.366/.516 with three homers, six RBI and one stolen base on the season. He plays everyday against right-handed pitching and could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues, especially while he’s hitting atop the M’s lineup.
