Rodriguez's recent poor play has seen him bounce around the lineup in an effort to get his bat going -- he hit fifth Thursday but had batted seventh in the previous two games.       Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and also stole a base on Thursday, powering the Mariners to a 7-3 victory over the Orioles.

      Advice: Rodríguez connected for his first homer since June 15 when he launched a towering 428-foot blast to left field off Orioles ace Corbin Burnes in the fifth inning. It was his eighth round-tripper of the season and a much-needed sign for the 23-year-old superstar, who has been mired in a season-long tailspin at the dish. The absence of over-the-fence pop has been the most alarming trend in his sudden decline, so this performance certainly qualifies as a step in the right direction.       Steven Kwan went 3-for-4 with a homer in an 8-4 win over the White Sox on Thursday.

      Advice: Kwan hit a solo homer off Jared Shuster in the third inning to give Cleveland a 2-1 lead. That’s the eighth homer of the season for the 26-year-old, who is enjoying a sensational 2024 season to put it mildly. On top of the homer and two more hits, he also walked, and the slash is now a robust .367/.424/.539. It’s very likely this isn’t sustainable — at least to this level — but Kwan has been a difference maker in the first half of 2024 for fantasy managers and the Guardians.       Phillies manager Rob Thomson said “it’s possible” that Kyle Schwarber (groin) could return on Tuesday when the Phillies begin their series against the Dodgers.

      Advice: Schwarber is already running at 90% on the field and has not yet been on the IL for a week, so he likely wouldn’t need any rehab assignment if he progresses quickly.       Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that Schwarber (groin) is going through drills at 90 percent intensity, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

      Advice: Meanwhile, Thomson pegged Bryce Harper (hamstring) and J.T. Realmuto (knee) at 70-to-75 percent as they go through drills. While it's possible all three players make it back prior to the All-Star break, Schwarber would appear to have the best shot to do so. He's coming back from a left groin strain.       Advice: Harris suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain June 14 and was able to do some light running for the first time since sustaining the injury.     • M’s drop Julio Rodríguez to seventh in lineup
      Julio Rodríguez is batting seventh on Tuesday against the Orioles.

      Advice: It’s the lowest Rodriguez has batted in the majors in quite some time as his frosty start to the 2024 campaign continues. The 23-year-old generational talent has really struggled to get going this season at the plate, batting .247/.297/.327 with seven homers and 17 steals across 360 plate appearances. He’s been ice-cold of late, hitting .069 (2-for-29) over his last seven games. It’s possible taking some pressure off him to produce in the heart of Seattle’s lineup will help him get back on track.
