    • Delivers walk-off home run
Burger went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Burger was 0-for-4 with a pair of punchouts before he belted a three-run shot to win the game in the ninth inning. He's gone deep three times in his last 10 games after halting his 11-game drought. On the year, Burger owns a disappointing .216/.256/.356 slash line with nine home runs and 31 RBI through 68 games. • Blasts home run, swipes bag
Contreras went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Contreras had a monster game against the Nationals, contributing in all facets and extended a hitting streak to six games in Sunday's win. He clubbed his ninth home run of the season and his third in his last six games. The veteran had his first three RBI game of the season and picked up his third stolen base in the process. He's been playing well since returning from the IL and is hitting .299/.399/.529 for the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:12 pm
    • Blows save but notches win
Diaz (3-1) got the win during Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Pirates but also blew the save. He did not allow a run on one hit, one walk and one strikeout over 1.1 innings.

Advice: With the Mets leading 1-0, Diaz entered the game with two outs in the eighth and allowed a walk and the go-ahead hit. After Francisco Lindor gave his team the lead, Diaz came back out and pitched a clean ninth to pick up his third win. The 30-year-old returned from his 10-game suspension on Saturday, and he picked up the save. With Sunday's outing, he hasn't allowed a run in his last six appearances and has lowered his ERA to 4.26.  Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:21 pm
    • Edwin Díaz blows save, earns win against Pirates
Edwin Díaz worked 1 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Pirates. He allowed one hit, one walk, struck out one batter, blew the save, and wound up with the win.

Advice: Back from suspension, Díaz was tasked with a four-out save pitching on back-to-back days. He walked the first batter he saw and allowed both of his inherited runners to score. Then, the Mets grabbed the lead and he came back out to pitch a scoreless ninth inning. Díaz clearly isn’t the same pitcher he was in 2022, but the Mets have absolute trust in him as their closer. • Jake Burger hits game-winning home run
Jake Burger went 1-for-5 with a game-winning three-run home run in a 7-4 win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: With two runners on in a one-run game, the White Sox elected to walk Jesus Sanchez to set up a righty-righty matchup with Michael Kopech against Burger. Burger responded with a 431-foot shot to win the game. It was just his ninth home run of the season after hitting 34 last year, and the 28-year-old may be better off playing for a new team after the trade deadline. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:10 pm

    • Willson Contreras smacks another home run in win
Willson Contreras went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in the Cardinals’ 8-3 win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Contreras has picked up right where he left off since returning from the IL. His home run was scorched at 108.9 MPH and even his single was sizzled at 105.4 MPH. Few players, let alone catchers, hit the ball as hard and as consistently as Contreras. He’s on pace to put together a huge second half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:49 pm
    • Heading out for rehab assignment
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that he anticipates Bednar (oblique) reporting to Triple-A Indianapolis this week to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Bednar has been on the 15-day injured list since June 23 with a left oblique strain, but he's on the cusp of a return after he threw a 21-pitch live batting practice session Saturday without incident. Cherington didn't say whether Bednar would require more than one rehab appearance with Indianapolis, but with the All-Star break looming, it wouldn't be surprising if the Pirates waited until the start of their second-half schedule July 19 before activating their closer. • On track for activation Tuesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson confirmed Sunday that Schwarber (groin) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After running on the field at approximately 90 percent intensity Saturday, Schwarber cleared the final hurdle in his recovery from a left groin strain by sprinting at full speed during a pregame workout Sunday. The Phillies apparently feel comfortable enough with Schwarber's health to let him return from the IL without heading out on a rehab assignment beforehand. Schwarber has made just three of his 78 starts in left field this season, and the Phillies will most likely deploy him strictly as a designated hitter during the upcoming week to lessen the possibility of a setback with the groin heading into the All-Star break. The 31-year-old's upcoming return will presumably result in fewer opportunities for David Dahl. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:05 pm

    • Sitting versus southpaw
Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Frelick is 1-for-13 with two walks and two runs over his past four games and will sit Sunday with lefty Justin Wrobleski taking the mound for Los Angeles. Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins and Garrett Mitchell will start from left to right in the outfield for the series finale. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:51 pm
