• Chas McCormick hits HR in loss to Tigers
Chas McCormick went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: McCormick didn’t start this game, but all five Astros’ runs were driven in by players who were on the bench for the first pitch. The home run was McCormick’s first of the season but was a no-doubted, hit 428 feet at 106.5 mph. He’s battled through injuries this year and is hitting just .209 on the season, but Jake Meyers has also started to struggle, so there is a chance that McCormick could push for more playing time if he can start swinging the bat well. • Two rehab starts required
Clevinger (elbow) is expected to make two starts at Triple-A Charlotte before returning to the White Sox during a seven-game homestand that begins June 24, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Clevinger is lined up for starts with Charlotte on Tuesday and June 23 and is expected to join the White Sox in the days after his June 23 outing. The 33-year-old was placed on the IL with right elbow inflammation May 28 but has been facing batters since June 7. Once healthy, Clevinger is expected to knock Jonathan Cannon or Drew Thorpe out of the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 5:12 pm

  • Flaherty pitches well through back injury
Jack Flaherty threw five scoreless innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out six.

Advice: Flaherty received an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday and had a few extra days of rest to combat a back injury, but he looked good overall on Saturday. His four-seam velocity was down 1.5 mph, so that’s something to keep an eye on, but he induced eight whiffs on 31 swings for a 26 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. He needed just 73 pitches to get through five innings and sets up for a great spot next week against the White Sox. Rotoworld Today, 5:11 pm

  • Tosses bullpen session
Darvish (groin) threw a bullpen session Friday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Darvish simulated three innings in the session, tossing 60 pitches. The veteran hurler said before throwing the bullpen that he expects the session to be sufficient ramp-up to allow him to return to the Padres' rotation without a rehab assignment. Per Acee, Darvish could start a game during San Diego's homestand against Milwaukee that begins next Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:09 pm

  • Spencer Arrighetti roughed up by Tigers
Spencer Arrighetti allowed seven runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: The Astros moved Arrighetti’s start up a day when Justin Verlander was scratched with an injury and that may have been the wrong move. The 24-year-old had allowed just two earned runs over 14 2/3 innings in his last three starts and had a 15.3 percent K-BB rate and 11.4 percent swinging strike rate over his last four starts. Yet, nothing worked for him on Saturday. He couldn’t find the plate with anything other than his cutter and induced just three whiffs on 20 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW. It’s possible the late change in schedule threw him off, but whatever it was, he remains off the streaming radar next week against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 5:08 pm
  • Late addition to lineup
Montero will play first base and bat cleanup Saturday against Pittsburgh, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Brenton Doyle (knee) was scratched from the lineup Saturday, pushing Jake Cave to center field and Michael Toglia into right in order to open up a spot at first base for Montero. Montero has just two hits in his last 23 at-bats and has a .546 OPS on the year. Rotowire.com Today, 5:03 pm

  • Brenton Doyle scratched with knee issue Saturday
Brenton Doyle was scratched from the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to left patella tendinitis.

Advice: The fact that he was in the team’s initial lineup before getting scratched bodes well for his availability moving forward. Doyle should be considered day-to-day. Michael Toglia will start in his place in right field and will bat sixth for the Rockies on Saturday night against Jared Jones and the Pirates. Rotoworld Today, 5:00 pm

  • Scratched from lineup
Doyle was scratched from Saturday's game against the Pirates with left patella tendinitis, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Doyle was slated to bat second and play center field Saturday but was removed form the starting lineup with left knee pain. Instead, Jake Cave will slide to center, Michael Toglia will play right, and Elehuris Montero will enter the lineup and play first base. Rotowire.com Today, 4:59 pm

  • Call-up made official
The Pirates recalled Delay from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

Advice: Delay joined the Pirates in Colorado ahead of Saturday's game against the Rockies and should split catching duties with Yasmani Grandal while Henry Davis (concussion) is sidelined. Delay posted a .523 OPS at Triple-A over 34 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:54 pm
