• Roddery Muñoz fans seven in victory over Rockies
Roddery Muñoz picked up his first career victory in impressive fashion on Wednesday night, piling up seven strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball against the Rockies.

Advice: The 24-year-old rookie right-hander allowed just three hits and a pair of walks on the night. The lone tally against him came on an RBI ground out off the bat of Elias Diaz in the sixth inning. Aside from that, he was in complete command. Muñoz generated 12 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night — half of those on his cutter — while posting a strong CSW of 30 percent. The Marlins have to give him another opportunity to start next week, though he’ll draw a difficult matchup having to take on the Dodgers in Los Angeles. For fantasy managers who are into streaming pitchers weekly, a two-step that goes at the Dodgers and vs. the Phillies is about as volatile as it gets. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Ryan McMahon reaches three times in loss Wednesday
Ryan McMahon doubled and drew a pair of walks on Wednesday night as the Rockies fell to the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: McMahon worked a two-out walk off of Roddery Munoz in the opening inning and went to third on a single by Elias Diaz, but the Rockies couldn’t cash him in. He then smacked a one-out double in the sixth inning that pushed Brenton Doyle to third base and helped contribute to the Rockies’ lone run on the day. He’s off to a blistering start at the dish this season, slashing .324/.408/.505 with four homers and 18 RBI through his first 30 games. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Dakota Hudson pitches well in loss to Marlins
Dakota Hudson pitched well in a losing effort against the Marlins on Wednesday night, allowing just two runs on five hits across 5 2/3 frames.

Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander walked two batters and struck out a pair on the evening. All of the scoring done against him came in the fifth inning, as Luis Arraez roped an RBI single to center and then scored on an RBI double off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz. Hudson got six whiffs on 78 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. Now 0-5 on the season, he’ll try again to get into the win column as he carries a 5.93 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and an 18/17 K/BB ratio (30 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Giants in Colorado. • Oswaldo Cabrera powers Yankees past Orioles
Oswaldo Cabrera swatted a two-run homer off of Corbin Burnes on Wednesday night, powering the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore.

Advice: Cabrera accounted for the only scoring for either team in the ballgame, poking a 352-foot (103.3 mph EV) two-out, two-run homer just over the wall in right field and just inside the foul pole to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning. He also singled in the ballgame and swiped a base, finishing the night 2-for-3. On the season, the versatile 25-year-old is now hitting .262/.300/.417 with four homers, 18 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Juan Soto swipes two bases as Yankees defeat O’s
Juan Soto singled, walked and stole a pair of bases as the Yankees triumphed over the Orioles on Wednesday evening in Baltimore.

Advice: Soto smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the top half of the first inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. He then worked a leadoff walk in the sixth inning, and once again nabbed second before being thrown out trying to steal third. On the season, the 25-year-old superstar is now hitting .325/.439/.575 to go along with eight homers, 25 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Clay Holmes locks down five-out save against O’s
Clay Holmes slammed the door on the Orioles on Wednesday night, getting the final five outs to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Holmes was called upon with two men on and one out in the eighth inning, and he quelled that threat by striking out Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman in succession to end the inning. He returned for the ninth where he allowed a leadoff single to Ryan O’Hearn and nothing more. The 31-year-old right-hander has been unbelievable so far this season, hurling 15 innings of scoreless baseball with a 16/1 K/BB ratio while converting 10 of his first 11 save chances. Studly. • Luis Gil out-duels Corbin Burnes to beat Orioles
Luis Gil out-dueled Corbin Burnes on Wednesday evening in Baltimore, scattering just two hits over 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The right-hander racked up five strikeouts on the night while allowing only one base on balls. Both of the hits against him in the contest were singles and the O’s never really mounted a serious scoring threat against him. Gil generated nine whiffs on 95 pitches on the night — six of those on his fastball which averaged 95.8 mph — while posting a CSW of 26 percent. The 25-year-old hurler has made a major impact in the Yankees’ rotation through the first month-plus of the season, going 2-1 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 40/20 K/BB ratio over 31 innings through his first six starts. He’ll try to keep the good times rolling when he squares off against the Astros at home on Tuesday. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Ryan O’Hearn reaches twice in loss to Yankees
Ryan O’Hearn went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk as the Orioles were shut out at home by the Yankees on Wednesday evening.

Advice: As a team, the Orioles were only able to muster three singles and a pair of walks against Luis Gil and a host of Yankees’ relievers. O’Hearn was the only member of his squad to reach base twice. The 30-year-old is off to a nice start to his 2024 season, slashing .300/.380/.543 with four homers and nine RBI through his first 79 plate appearances. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Corbin Burnes logs quality start in loss to Yanks
Corbin Burnes logged a quality start in Wednesday’s loss to the Yankees, giving up just two runs on four hits over six strong innings of work.

Advice: The Orioles’ ace struck out six batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him — and in the game — came on a two-out, two-run homer off the bat of Oswaldo Cabrera in the fifth inning that just barely stayed fair and creeped over the wall in right field. Burnes got 14 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the contest — seven of those on his slider — while registering an elite CSW of 34 percent. Now 3-1 on the season, he’ll carry an outstanding 2.61 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 41/9 K/BB ratio (41 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Nationals in Washington. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago
