• Fans 11 in no-decision
Crochet came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies in 14 innings, striking out 11 over seven frames while allowing two earned runs on five hits and zero walks.

Advice: After Crochet had thrown 85 and 91 pitches in his prior two starts, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Tuesday that the lefty's workload was "going to start dwindling" moving forward while the White Sox look to prioritize his long-term health. Even though he was mowing down the Colorado lineup for most of the afternoon, Crochet was still pulled after tossing 88 pitches and covering seven innings. If Crochet's pitch count continues to hover around the 85-to-90 range in his future starts, it could hurt his chances of coming away with wins, though he's notched only six wins through his first 18 starts while he's been supported by a weak White Sox lineup. Even so, Crochet remains a must-start fantasy option as long as he's active, as he's thus far provided elite ratios whenever he's taken the hill. The southpaw now owns a 3.02 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a league-leading 141 strikeouts over 101.1 innings this season. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start in Miami next weekend. • Struggles in defeat
Allen (8-4) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing three earned runs on six hits and zero walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Allen never found his footing, surrendering runs in the first two frames before exiting in the fifth inning. This comes off the back of a brutal outing during which he allowed three home runs and was pulled after just three innings. The 25-year-old has been an adequate source of wins thanks to the Cleveland offense, but he sports an ugly 5.75 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP and a 67:31 K:BB across 83 innings this season. The southpaw will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Giants. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:48 pm

  • Crochet records 11 strikeouts in no-decision
Garrett Crochet allowed two runs in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out 11. He was excellent once again. Both runs Crochet allowed came in the second inning when the Rockies scored on a balk and a sacrifice fly. Otherwise, he dominated with 11 strikeouts and now has a 3.02 ERA on the season. Crochet continues to make his case for the American League Cy Young award. In his last 11 starts, he has a 1.48 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

  • Rounding into form
Cole (1-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits, a walk and two hit batsmen over five innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out six.

Advice: Cole continues to struggle with his command as he rounds into form following a two-plus month stint on the IL with a nerve irritation in his elbow, but Sunday's performance represented a major step in the right direction. After walking four and allowing four homers in his previous start, Cole allowed a single run in the third, then struck out three of the last six batters he faced as he sent the Blue Jays down in order in the fourth and fifth innings to close out his day. The five innings pitched, 90 pitches thrown, one run allowed and six strikeouts each represented a season-best total for Cole, who continues to inch his way back toward his normal workload. He's tentatively slated to toe the rubber again next weekend in an AL East showdown when the Yankees welcome the Red Sox to the Bronx. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:22 pm

  • Allen gives up three runs in loss to Royals Sunday
Logan Allen allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Allen gave up six hits, walked none and struck out three. His ERA was 5.83 at the end of May before winning two of his first three starts in June, but now his last two starts have his ERA back up to 5.75 on the year. Allen has won eight games for the Guardians, but you have to wonder how much longer he’s going to last in this rotation. The 27-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants at home next weekend.

  • Yonny Chirinos can’t get out of fifth inning
Yonny Chirinos allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings of work on Sunday. He struck out four, walked one, and the Phillies had nine hits.

Advice: Given a large lead early, Chirinos could not get through this injury-ravaged Phillies lineup. They made lots of hard contact and ignited their huge comeback before he was chased from this game. Chirinos is unexciting filler in the Marlins’ decimated rotation. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:59 pm

  • Greene allows one run in loss to Cardinals Sunday
Hunter Greene allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Advice: Greene gave up four hits, walked two and struck out six. It was certainly better than his last start where he allowed six runs, but the Cardinals worked up his pitch count and he was unable to complete even five innings. Greene has a 3.70 ERA and 4.29 xFIP on the season. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Tigers at home next weekend.

  • Lynn tosses six scoreless, gets win against Reds
Lance Lynn threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Cardinals’ 2-0 victory over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Lynn gave up two hits, walked one and struck out six. He’s won consecutive starts for the first time this year. Lynn was excellent in shutting down the Reds and now has a 3.59 ERA on the season. The 37-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road next weekend.

  • Gerrit Cole wins, rights ship against Blue Jays
Gerrit Cole scattered three hits and a walk across five innings on Sunday in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays. He allowed one run and struck out six.

Advice: This was the first time this season Cole looked like himself. His fastball velocity was much more consistent than it had been in either of his first two starts and he showed no hesitation in challenging the Blue Jays hitters with it. He also showed better command of his secondaries and the Yankees let him work all the way up to 90 pitches. While not perfect, this was the kind of start we needed to see from Cole.
