• Miguel Vargas connects for first homer in victory
Miguel Vargas slugged a solo homer to lead the Dodgers to a 3-0 win in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Mets.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has been reluctant to give Vargas opportunities so far as he made just his third start in this one since being summoned back on May 17 from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He connected for his first round-tripper of the season when he took Mets starter José Quintana deep in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old should probably get a longer look in Los Angeles, but it doesn’t sound like that’s in the cards at the moment, unless he’s going to force them to keep his bat in the lineup. • Jordan Westburg has two hits, two RBI in loss
Jordan Westburg went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBI in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Westburg drove both runs in on a 103.7 mph single in the first inning. He now has 34 RBI to go along with a .291/.351/.508 slash line. While the 25-year-old has cooled down a bit from his torrid start to the season and is pulling the ball far less than he was in April, he continues to produce, hitting .278 with three home runs in 24 games in May. He’s proven himself as a fixture in this lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm

  • Out of Tuesday's lineup
Moore isn't in the Mariners' lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Moore has been extremely hot at the plate lately, slashing an incredible .324/.489/.735 with three homers and seven RBI across his last 11 games. He'll get a breather against Hunter Brown and the Astros while Luke Raley, Julio Rodriguez and Dominic Canzone start across the outfield with Mitch Haniger in as the DH. • Geraldo Perdomo (knee) nearing rehab assignment
Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is close to starting a minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: Perdomo will head to the nearby Rookie-level Arizona Complex League for a handful of contests before shifting to facing some higher-level competition at Triple-A Reno. The 24-year-old shortstop has been out since early April recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:50 pm

  • Officially activated
The Yankees reinstated LeMahieu (foot) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: A fracture of LeMahieu's right foot has kept him on the injured list all season, but he will return to make his season debut Tuesday while starting at third base and batting ninth. The 35-year-old veteran will act as New York's primary third baseman going forward, though he's expected to receive a handful of off days initially as the Yankees attempt to ease him back into action. • Yankees activate DJ LeMahieu for season debut
Yankees activated INF DJ LeMahieu from the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The saga is finally over. LeMahieu will make his season debut on Tuesday night following a two-mont absence recovering from a fracture in his right foot, and a couple setbacks along the way. The 35-year-old veteran figures to draw most of his starts at the hot corner moving forward and bat near the bottom of New York’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:39 pm

  • Sitting against lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: After a 1-for-5 performance during the Dodgers' Game 1 win, Lux will take a seat during the nightcap versus left-handed starter Jose Quintana. Miguel Rojas will start at the keystone instead while batting eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:23 pm

  • Nearing game action
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Perdomo (knee) is expected to play in live games "very, very shortly," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old has already taken live at-bats but has yet to run thus bases, so he still has a bit of work to do in his rehab program before seeing game action. Lovullo said in mid-May that Perdomo was expected to return from the injured list in a couple weeks, but it instead appears the shortstop's absence will extend into June. • Sitting against lefty
Garcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against Atlanta.

Advice: With southpaw Max Fried on the hill for Atlanta, the left-handed hitting Garcia will yield to switch-hitter Ildemaro Vargas at second base. Garcia has made just three starts against lefties this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:01 pm
