      Pablo López pitched seven innings of one-run ball Friday as the Twins downed the Astros 6-1.

      Advice: López generated 17 missed swings tonight, 12 of them with his fastball. His peripherals would suggest that he’s had pretty awful luck this season, but he was in close to peak form tonight.       Ronel Blanco took his first loss Friday after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Twins.

      Advice: Blanco walked three and gave up a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach. Apart from the time he was ejected for his sticky stuff, this is the first time this year that Blanco has failed to complete five innings.       Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

      Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts.       Hicks (4-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Friday.

      Advice: Aaron Judge did most of the damage against Hicks, taking him deep for a three-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the sixth. The five runs allowed were the most Hicks has given up in a start this season, though it was a positive to see him issue no walks for the fourth time in 12 outings. Homers are becoming a problem for the right-hander -- he's allowed five of them over his last four starts after giving up just one across his first eight outings.       Advice: When Hicks wasn’t pitching to Aaron Judge, things went ok. Unfortunately, he pitched to Aaron Judge a few times, and he gave up two homers to the mountain of a slugger. Hicks did give up eight hits in this contest, so it wasn’t just Aaron Judge, but Aaron Judge did most of the damage. This blurb is just an excuse to talk more about Aaron Judge.       Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

      Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not.       Lopez (3-2) yielded a run on four hits and two walks over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Lopez worked around some trouble throughout the contest and turned in one of his best starts of the year. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts with 16 whiffs, including nine with his slider. It was the first time he recorded more than five punchouts in a start since April 30.       Advice: Lopez appeared to be in the form that led him to a seventh place finish in the 2023 AL Cy Young race. The Minnesota right-hander generated an impressive 17 whiffs en route to his six punchouts while lowering his season ERA to 4.84 in 67 innings. The lone blemish on his evening was the 348-foot solo shot Alex Bregman hit into Houston's Crawford Boxes in the fourth inning. The Houston right-hander also yielded a season-high four runs, pushing his ERA up to 2.44 overall in 59 innings.
