      Advice: The third baseman erupted out of a slump to homer in three straight games against Tampa Bay, racking up six hits and eight RBI in the three-games weekend series. Even with the power surge, Riley has only six home runs and 28 RBI on the season, but he's topped 30 homers and 90 RBI in each of the past three seasons.       Kepler (elbow) went 1-for-5 in a win over the A's in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

      Advice: After being hit by a pitch on the elbow Friday, Kepler was held out Saturday and for the first game of Sunday's twin bill. He was back in the lineup for Game 2, however, and appears to be in the clear moving forward. Trade rumors have followed Kepler for several seasons, but he continues to fill a prominent role against right-handed pitching for Minnesota.       Jax allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in an 8-7 win over the Athletics in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.

      Advice: Jax hadn't logged a save since May 10, but he received the opportunity to do so Sunday after Jhoan Duran closed out the matinee game. While the two relievers initially shared closing duties early in May, Duran has been the Twins' main closer for about a month while Jax has settled into a setup role. Sunday's start was Singer's first allowing multiple home runs and was his second time in seven appearances completing six innings. He did allow a one-out single to JJ Bleday that put the tying run on base, but battled back to get Miguel Andujar on a fly ball to center field and Tyler Soderstrom on strikes to end it. The 27-year-old has now gone deeper than six innings in three straight starts and has walked merely one batter across his last 33.2 innings.       Advice: Kershaw came out well from a series of recent simulated games and is now set to take the final step toward a return from offseason shoulder surgery. The left-hander is said to be ahead of progress in his recovery, though he'll almost certainly need several rehab outings before he's ready to come off the 60-day injured list and make his season debut for the big club.       Bradford (rib/back) said June 5 that he has begun playing catch off flat ground from 120 feet, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Bradford turned some heads by opening the season with three wins and a 1.40 ERA and 0.62 WHIP through his first three starts, but he's been on the shelf since mid-April with a lower back strain and a small stress fracture of a rib. Nearly two months later, Bradford is finally throwing again, and assuming that he's responding well to long tossing, he could be cleared for bullpen sessions in the next week or two. Bradford is without a clear target date for a return from the 60-day injured list, but he may not have a rotation spot waiting for him once he's activated, as Max Scherzer (back/arm) and Tyler Mahle (elbow) could both rejoin the big club before him.     • Suffers wrist contusion
      Rengifo suffered a left wrist contusion in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored prior to his departure.

      Advice: Rengifo took a line drive single from Matt Chapman off his left arm in the bottom of the fourth inning while playing third base, exiting the contest thereafter. The 27-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed just a contusion, and he said that he expects to play Monday against the Brewers. Rengifo can be considered day-to-day for the time being.
