    • Successful bullpen session
Pepiot (leg) threw a three-inning bullpen session ahead of Friday's game against the Blue Jays, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pepiot continues to make progress toward a return, as he's now thrown three successful bullpen sessions. His activation could come as soon as the Rays' upcoming series against the Red Sox, though no final decision has been reached. Rotowire.com Today, 12:06 am

    • Reaches base five times
Diaz went 3-for-3 with two walks and a run scored Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Diaz has gotten on track at the plate across the last two weeks, with Saturday's performance marking his eighth multi-hit performance across his last 15 games. He's gone 23-for-63 with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored, also chipping in a pair of home runs. Overall, Diaz owns a 106 wRC+ but just a .097 ISO across 206 plate appearances for the season. • Allows run, snags win Saturday
Romero (1-0) allowed a run on three hits over one inning, taking a blown save but earning the win Saturday versus the Red Sox. He did not strike out or walk a batter.

Advice: Romero gave up a game-tying RBI double to Rob Refsnyder in the eighth inning, but the Cardinals answered with a five-run rally in their half of the frame. This was just the fourth run Romero's allowed all year, and just the third time he's given up multiple hits in an appearance. The southpaw has been excellent in a setup role with a 1.54 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB while adding 15 holds through 23.1 innings. Romero hasn't had a chance to challenge closer Ryan Helsley for the ninth inning yet, as the back end of the Cardinals' bullpen has been one of the team's few positives in 2024. • Yandy Díaz reaches five times in win vs. Toronto
Yandy Díaz went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two walks against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Díaz started his day with a single to lead off the first inning. He added a base hit in the third and led off the sixth with his third hit before scoring on a single by Amed Rosario. Díaz reached again in the seventh on a walk and drew another walk in the eighth to reach base in all five plate appearances. The 32-year-old first baseman ends the day hitting .263/.330/.360 with three homers and 23 RBI across 206 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:00 pm

    • Sitting down versus lefty
Kepler isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Left-hander Logan Allen will toe the slab for Cleveland on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Kepler will retreat to the bench. Manuel Margot will take over in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:05 pm
    • Héctor Neris strikes out two, earns win vs. Pirates
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts to fall in line for the win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Neris hasn’t had many clean outings this season. This one came at an opportune time. With the game scoreless into the ninth, he took the mound and struck out two in a perfect inning to send it to the bottom of the frame. The Cubs would walk it off, giving Neris his fourth win of the season to go with six saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
    • Missing fifth straight
Riley (side) isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game versus San Diego.

Advice: Riley said Saturday that he is feeling better, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but he has yet to resume swinging a bat. The 27-year-old infielder also noted that the team has not talked with him about a potential move to the injured list; however, Riley wouldn't say that he would be back in time for the start of Atlanta's upcoming series with the Cubs on Tuesday. Zack Short, who will start at third base and bat seventh Saturday, has served as Atlanta's third baseman since Riley went down and should continue to do so until the slugger recovers. • Austin Riley not in Saturday’s lineup vs. Padres
Austin Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s tilt against the Padres.

Advice: Riley will miss his fifth straight contest due to left side inflammation. There’s a possibility he’ll be ready to go at some point later this weekend, but Atlanta clearly doesn’t want to take any chances by rushing him back too quickly. It’ll be Zack Short drawing another start at the hot corner in his ongoing absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:39 pm

    • Resting versus lefty
Rosario isn't in the Nationals' lineup Saturday against the Phillies.

Advice: Rosario will take a seat on the bench as southpaw Cristopher Sanchez gets set to start Saturday's game for Philadelphia. Jesse Winker, Jacob Young and Victor Robles will start across the outfield while Rosario sits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:39 pm
