• Garrett Crochet weaves gem with 13 strikeouts
Garrett Crochet struck out 13 batters over seven innings of one-run baseball but didn’t pick up a decision Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant while taking advantage of a team that strikes out at an enormous rate, so the results are equally impressive and not surprising. He did allow a solo homer to Tyler Locklear, but outside of that and a Victor Robles double, it was smooth sailing for the 24-year-old. The 13 punchouts are a season-high, but this is a hurler who has already fanned 116 batters in just-under 83 innings with a 3.16 ERA. Crochet is an absolute must-start regardless of opponent, and he gets the Astros on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:23 pm
  • Medina allows four runs in loss to Twins Thursday
Luis Medina allowed four runs in five innings and took the loss against the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Medina gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out three. He’s 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA in three starts with Oakland this year. Medina is off the fantasy radar. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals at home next week.

  • Ryan picks up fifth win against A’s Thursday
Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Twins’ 6-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Ryan gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. The win was his fifth of the year. Both of the runs for Oakland came on a Tyler Soderstrom two-run home run in the second inning. Ryan hung a splitter to Soderstrom, but it was basically the only mistake he made on the night. It was Ryan’s 10th quality start of the season. His ERA is now 3.24 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays at home next week.

  • Munoz throws six scoreless in no-decision
Roddery Munoz tossed six scoreless innings and got a no-decision against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Munoz gave up one hit, walked one and struck out five. He took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before it was broken up by Harrison Bader’s single. Munoz had allowed six home runs in his last two starts and eight home runs in 19 2/3 innings, but was almost untouchable against the Mets. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals at home next week.

Luis Severino allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: Severino gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out two. He’s allowed only one run in three of his last four starts. Severino’s two strikeouts were a season-low for him. His ERA is now 3.12 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.

  • Andrew Kittredge gets first save for Cardinals
Andrew Kittredge recorded his first save as a Cardinal by pitching a scoreless ninth Thursday versus the Pirates.

Advice: Ryan Helsley had this one off after throwing 39 pitches the previous two days, and Kittredge got the nod over Jojo Romero in his place. Kittredge has a 3.60 ERA in 30 innings out of the St. Louis bullpen. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm

  • Added to roster for spot start
The Mariners recalled Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Advice: Hancock will start Thursday against the White Sox, giving the other members of Seattle's rotation some extra rest amidst a stretch of one team day off over the next 14 days. The right-hander has already logged seven starts at the big-league level this season -- the most recent on May 7 -- but has pitched to a 5.24 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while forging a 3-3 record. He's been much more effective at Tacoma, where he's sitting on a 2.17 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over the 29 innings covering his five starts with the Rainiers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 am
