• Torres’ three-run homer not enough in Yanks loss
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Torres’ three-run homer in the seventh gave the Yankees their first runs of the evening after they spent the first six innings being stifled by Bryan Woo. Torres’ homer, his third on the season, ended shutout but didn’t prove to be enough for the Yankees, who were held scoreless the rest of the way. Torres is slashing a mere .223/.301/.310 on the season and is hitting .227 in the month of May. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Locks down ninth save
Alvarado earned the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: The Rangers got the tying run to the plate with one out in the ninth after an error and a Leody Taveras base hit. However, Alvarado would proceed to strike out Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, picking up his ninth save in a 5-2 win. While the Phillies have utilized a modified committee approach to the ninth inning, the left-handed Alvarado has established himself as their preferred closing option. His ERA sits at 3.54 with a 1.03 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago
  • Martín Pérez struggles with command vs SF
Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues. • Schmidt allows two earned in loss to Mariners
Clarke Schmidt allowed two earned runs and four hits over five innings in the Yankees’ loss to the Mariners.

Advice: The two earned runs Schmidt allowed came on a two-run homer by Dylan Moore on a pitch that was off the outside black of the plate. It was a well-thrown pitch that resulted in an unfortunate outcome for Schmidt, who was otherwise solid on the evening. He walked just two batters while striking out six and has now struck out six or more batters in seven of his 10 starts. Schmidt is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. • Dylan Moore homers twice as Mariners down Yankees
Dylan Moore went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Yankees.

Advice: Moore pulled a pitch on the outside black of the plate 402 feet to left field for a two-run homer to give the Mariners a lead in the top of the third. He would later single in the seventh inning to drive in Mitch Garver and homered again in the ninth, accounting for four of the Mariners’ six runs driven in on the afternoon. Moore hasn’t hit for much of an average but has provided solid power and run support at the bottom of the Mariners’ lineup. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Woo dominates over six scoreless innings vs. Yanks
Bryan Woo pitched six scoreless innings while striking out seven to earn the win on Tuesday against the Yankees.

Advice: Woo allowed just two hits in this one and didn’t walk a batter. The second-year pro has now allowed just one earned run over three starts and 15 2/3 innings this season since being activated from the 15-day injured list on May 10th. Woo is now 2-0 with a 0.57 ERA and 0.51 WHIP. He’ll look to keep his hot start going on Sunday against the Nationals. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Promotion imminent
Nastrini will be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to start Wednesday's game against Toronto, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Nastrini struggled mightily during his first two career MLB starts, allowing seven earned runs across eight total innings while striking out eight batters and walking seven. Since being optioned to Charlotte in late April, he's posted a 5.24 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 22.1 frames. Despite his lackluster performance, he'll be called upon to fill the open spot in Chicago's rotation and start Wednesday, pushing Mike Clevinger's next start to Thursday. • Improves to 9-0
Suarez (9-0) earned the win Tuesday over the Rangers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.

Advice: Suarez was stellar again Tuesday, holding Texas to a lone run on a Marcus Semien double in the third inning while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. The 28-year-old southpaw has been a revelation for the Phillies this season -- his ERA is down to a sparkling 1.36 with a 0.79 WHIP and 49:9 K:BB while earning a league-most nine wins across 10 starts (66 innings). Suarez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend in Colorado. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago
