• Scooped up by Baltimore
The Orioles claimed Martin off waivers from the Brewers on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Martin missed the 2023 season following lat surgery, and all nine of his 2024 appearances have come at the Triple-A level, where he's posted a 7.20 ERA and 10:13 K:BB over 10 frames. The 28-year-old has previously worked mostly as a starter but has been used exclusively in relief this season. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Works two innings in rehab outing
Mata (hamstring) began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday and struck out two over two innings while allowing one run on three hits and no walks.

Advice: The 25-year-old Mata has yet to make his big-league debut, but because he has no minor-league options remaining, he'll eventually join the Red Sox once he completes what will likely be a lengthy rehab assignment across multiple affiliates. Mata, who is working his way back from a right hamstring strain, has worked almost exclusively as a starter during his time in the minors, but he'll presumably be in store for a low-leverage, multi-inning role out of the Red Sox bullpen upon his return from the 15-day injured list. • Starting Tuesday versus Cleveland
Leiter will be recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to start Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Leiter hasn't fared well in either of his first two major-league starts, allowing a total of 11 earned runs with a 6:3 K:BB over 7.2 innings in matchups with the Tigers and Athletics. However, with Nathan Eovaldi (groin), Dane Dunning (shoulder) and Max Scherzer (back) still on the mend, the Rangers will give the rookie right-hander another chance to prove he belongs in the big-league rotation. Eovaldi seems to have a shot to return from the 15-day injured list later this week, so Leiter could be sent back down again after Tuesday's outing. Rotowire.com Today, 9:55 am

  • Expects another rehab start
Snell (adductor) expects to make another rehab start before rejoining the Giants' rotation, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell had a dominant first rehab start with Single-A San Jose on Sunday, throwing an immaculate inning on his way to seven strikeouts across four perfect frames. He touched 97 mph on the radar gun. Snell threw just 46 pitches in the outing but did get in an additional 15 tosses in the bullpen after the appearance. Snell noted that the decision on where he will pitch next will ultimately be made by manager Bob Melvin and the team's medical staff, but the southpaw believes he could use another tune-up against stiffer competition. Snell is tracking toward a return next week. Rotowire.com Today, 9:12 am

  • Grabs win after Mets walk off
Diaz (1-1) secured the win over Alanta on Sunday, tossing a perfect ninth frame while striking out a batter.

Advice: Diaz entered to begin the ninth with the Mets trailing 3-2 and wound up with the win thanks to a Brandon Nimmo two-run walk off homer in the bottom of the inning. He's bounced back with a save and a win in his last two outings after allowing three runs in his previous four innings. He's also struck out at least one batter in all 15 of his appearances thus far. For the year, Diaz owns a 2.30 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB in 15.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 7:54 am

  • Moving rehab to Double-A
Peterson (hip) will make his next rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday or Wednesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw has made three rehab starts for Single-A St. Lucie, posting a dazzling 16:1 K:BB over 8.2 scoreless innings, and he appears ready for tougher competition as he completes his recovery from offseason hip surgery. Peterson is eligible to come off the injured list May 27, but the Mets rotation is crowded at the moment with prospect Christian Scott now in the majors and Tylor Megill (shoulder) poised to be activated from the 15-day injured list this week. Peterson has a minor-league option remaining, so he may get sent to Triple-A Syracuse once he's activated. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am

  • On track to start Wednesday
The Mariners list Woo (forearm) as their probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Royals in Seattle.

Advice: Woo missed the first six weeks of the regular season with right elbow inflammation before returning from the 15-day injured list Friday after a trio of successful rehab starts. The right-hander was cruising through his first start of the season with the Mariners in Friday's 8-1 win over the Athletics, but he was lifted after 4.1 scoreless innings and 62 pitches upon experiencing forearm tightness. Though the fact that Woo is dealing with an injury that's seemingly related to the one that kept him on the shelf earlier this season isn't ideal, manager Scott Servais downplayed concern about the forearm issue after the game. The Mariners are still seemingly anticipating that Woo will be ready to go for his next turn through the rotation Wednesday, though fantasy managers will still want to keep tabs on his status leading up to the day of the game just to ensure the team hasn't scratched him from the start. • Sharp again Sunday in rehab start
Megill (shoulder) struck out six while giving up seven hits and no walks over 5.1 scoreless innings in his rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

Advice: In what could be the right-hander's final rehab start, Megill built up to 74 pitches (55 strikes) as he dominated Lehigh Valley. Over four rehab appearances, Megill has an eye-popping 23:1 K:BB over 14 innings while allowing just one run. There's no clear vacancy in the big-league rotation at the moment with Christian Scott getting promoted from Triple-A earlier this month, but the Mets could go with a six-man rotation in the short term, as they don't get a day off until May 23. If he stays on turn, Megill would get activated from the 15-day injured list Friday for a road start against the Marlins. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 am

  • Working through mechanical issues
Senga (shoulder) won't face hitters again until he works through some mechanical issues, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw 32 pitches in a live bullpen session last weekend, but he apparently wasn't satisfied with how it went. Senga will take a step back in his throwing program and go back to more controlled bullpen sessions without hitters involved until he's sure he won't be developing any bad habits as he progresses in his rehab from a shoulder strain. While the caution is smart in the long run, the hiccup will almost certainly ensure that Senga won't be ready to join the Mets rotation when he's first eligible to come off the 60-day injured list in late May.
