    • Iván Herrera collects three hits in victory
Iván Herrera went 3-for-4 and stole a base Wednesday in his first start in four days.

Advice: Herrera sat both Sunday and Tuesday, with a team off day Monday in between. The Cardinals clearly prefer Pedro Pagés’ defense to Herrera’s, but Herrera is obviously much better offensively. In spite of Herrera’s success tonight, he was replaced for defense late in the contest. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:20 pm
    • Jose Trevino slugs three-run homer vs. Royals
Jose Trevino went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer against the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Trevino broke the game open in the first inning with a three-run blast off Daniel Lynch. He later added a base hit to lead off the sixth. The 31-year-old backstop is slashing a respectable .272/.321/.416 with six homers and 23 RBI across 138 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:03 pm
    • Hitting bench Wednesday
Grandal is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Grandal will give way to Henry Davis behind the plate after catching in three of the Pirates' previous four games. Since returning to action May 3 after a season-opening stint on the injured list while he recovered from plantar fasciitis, Grandal has hit just .163 with two home runs, one stolen base, 12 RBI and six runs through his first 25 games with Pittsburgh. • Sticks around as No. 2 catcher
Torrens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Torrens will take a seat for the second day in a row after closing out the weekend with his third consecutive start, but the 28-year-old journeyman has performed well enough since joining the team May 31 to stick around with the big club over fellow backstop Tomas Nido, who was designated for assignment Tuesday. Francisco Alvarez came off the 10-day injured list Tuesday and should see the bulk of the starts at catcher moving forward, even though Torrens has produced three extra-base hits through his first 18 plate appearances with the Mets. • Draws start Wednesday
Hedges will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: With the lefty-hitting Bo Naylor hitting the bench with southpaw Nick Lodolo taking the hill for the Reds, Hedges will get a turn behind the plate. Hedges will be making his 19th start of the season and has provided most of his value on the defensive end, as he enters Wednesday's contest with an ugly .130/.158/.204 slash line. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:17 pm
    • Sitting against southpaw
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: With lefty Nick Lodolo on the hill for Cincinnati, the lefty-hitting Naylor will retreat to the bench. Austin Hedges will step in for Naylor behind the plate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:14 pm

    • Resting Wednesday
Wells isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Wells will take a seat Wednesday after launching his second home run of the season during Tuesday's win. Jose Trevino will start behind the plate instead and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:29 pm

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Stubbs is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Stubbs is expected to see increased playing time at catcher for the foreseeable future after J.T. Realmuto (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, but Rafael Marchan will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday in what represents his first big-league action since 2021. While making his first start since Realmuto landed on the shelf in Tuesday's 4-1 win, Stubbs went 1-for-4 and nabbed his fourth stolen base of the season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:09 pm
    • Back on bench Wednesday
Rogers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Rogers will retreat to the bench after he started at catcher in both of the Tigers' last two games, going 2-for-8 with a home run and three RBI. The 29-year-old is slashing .226/.284/.387 overall for the season and still seems to be part of a timeshare at catcher with Carson Kelly, who gets the starting nod Wednesday.
