    • Reese Olson (hip) expects to make next start
Reese Olson is optimistic that he won’t miss any additional time after leaving his start Monday with a right hip contusion.

Advice: Olson said he blacked out for a second after the ball hit him, which definitely tracks with how he looked initially. Fortunately, there shouldn’t be any lasting damage. Olson did wind up taking another tough loss to the Royals after leaving down 2-0 the third. He’s now 0-5 in spite of a 2.16 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 7:49 pm

    • Gets hit hard Monday
Wentz allowed five runs on five hits out of the bullpen while not retiring a single batter in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Wentz had his first true disaster outing of the season, which included allowing his first home run of the year to Salvador Perez. The lefty came into the game with a stellar 1.08 ERA but departed with that figure up to 3.78. One bad appearance doesn't undo nearly two months of solid play, though after Wentz struggled mightily in 2023, it was fair to expect some regression after his great start to the season. • Likely headed for IL
Ross (back) is expected to require a stint on the 15-day injured list, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Ross was forced from Monday's start after his back tightened up, and he was later diagnosed with a low back strain. The club will likely wait to see how he responds Tuesday morning before making an official roster move. Milwaukee is already thin when it comes to starting pitching, so the team will once again be forced to turn to their farm system for help. Aaron Ashby and Tobias Myers are candidates to fill in if it's confirmed Ross requires a trip to the IL. Rotowire.com Today, 7:04 pm

    • Joe Ross likely to land on IL with strained back
Joe Ross will likely require an IL stint after leaving Monday’s game with a back strain.

Advice: It appears that the Brewers are invested in giving Bradley Blalock a look as a reliever, so Tobias Myers might be the choice to step in for Ross. Blalock would be more interesting, though. Rotoworld Today, 6:56 pm

    • Mitchell Parker fans seven in victory over Twins
Mitchell Parker surrendered three runs over six innings on Monday in a win over the Twins.

Advice: Parker fell behind early when Kyle Farmer connected for an RBI single in the second inning, but managed to keep Minnesota’s lineup scoreless until a sixth-inning homer by Carlos Correa. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 32 percent CSW. The 24-year-old southpaw has alllowed three earned runs or fewer in seven straight starts to open his career, quickly emerging as an interesting streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. • Quality in win
Parker (3-2) earned the win Monday against the Twins, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Parker tossed his second quality start of the season, requiring 94 pitches to complete the accomplishment. The rookie southpaw has impressed in his first 38 career innings, posting a 3.32 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB. Parker currently lines up to face the Mariners in his next start this weekend. • Expected to require surgery
Whitlock has damage in his left UCL and will likely need surgery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Whitlock was shut down from throwing after he reported soreness in his right elbow Wednesday, and after further evaluation, it's been discovered that he has ligament damage. The right-hander will see a doctor in Birmingham later in the week, as he could be in the process of seeking a second opinion before electing surgery. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 pm

    • Reese Olson has right hip contusion
Reese Olson was diagnosed with a right hip contusion after leaving Monday’s game.

Advice: Olson was hurt when he was hit by a Michael Massey lineup. How he feels tomorrow could determine whether an IL stint is required. Rotoworld Today, 6:19 pm

    • Elbow surgery a possibility for Garrett Whitlock
Garrett Whitlock has UCL damage in his elbow and will receive a second opinion later this week.

Advice: Unfortunate, but it did seem like was coming. Assuming that Whitlock has surgery, he’ll almost certainly miss the rest of the season, and his return next year might come as a reliever. Rotoworld Today, 6:17 pm
