    • Kevin Newman hits walk-off single against Reds
Kevin Newman went 4-for-5 with a walkoff two-run single in the ninth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 6-5 win Monday over the Reds.

Advice: Newman poked a single to right to score a pair of runners and turned a potential 5-4 loss into a 6-5 win. The 30-year-old former first-rounder has hit just .253 even with those four hits, and what was once an intriguing fantasy prospect is now someone who can be ignored on waivers. Monday was a good one, however. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Gabriel Moreno homers, walks three times in win
Gabriel Moreno hit a solo homer and drew three walks in a victory over the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Moreno took Graham Ashcraft deep for his first homer of the 2024 campaign. The four-reach game helps improve his slash to .248/.350/.356. The on-base percentage is nice. Everything else leaves a lot to be desired — even as a catcher. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Jorge Polanco leaves with hamstring tightness
Jorge Polanco was removed from Monday’s game against the Royals with tightness in his right hamstring.

Advice: Polanco exited the game and was replaced by Luis Urias, with Urias taking over at third and Josh Rojas moving to second. It’s a concerning development, especially for a hitter that has battled injuries over the last few years. There should be a further update on Polanco before Tuesday’s game against Kansas City. • Nolan Arenado hits solo shot in win over Angels
Nolan Arenado hit a solo homer Monday in a victory over the Angels.

Advice: The Cardinals trailed 4-0 entering the seventh inning. Arenado got St. Louis on the board with a solo shot in that frame. Nine more runs would score for the Cardinals. The Angels might not be very good. Arenado now has three homers and 21 RBI at the quarter mark. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:33 pm

    • Blasts 10th homer
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk during Monday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: O'Neill's first-inning three-run blast provided all the scoring for the Red Sox on Monday. It was the first homer since April 27 for the slumping O'Neill, who hit .333 with nine homers over his first 19 games, but had gone just 7-for-44 (.159) with six walks and 22 strikeouts over the most recent 12 game homer-less stretch prior to Monday. • Leaves with hamstring issue
Polanco was removed from Monday's game against the Royals due to right hamstring tightness.

Advice: The severity of Polanco's injury is unclear, though he's likely headed for further testing. Josh Rojas and Luis Urias could see more opportunities at second base if Polanco is forced to miss additional time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm

    • Scoreless in no-decision
Bibee allowed three hits and two walks over 5.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four during the win over Texas.

Advice: Bibee failed to complete six innings for the third consecutive start, but this time it was simply due to a high pitch count. He was tagged with 10 runs in his previous two starts but bounced back with his second scoreless start of the year. Bibee retired the first 11 batters Monday before tailing off a bit near the end of his start, including leaving the game after loading the bases in the sixth inning. He lowered his ERA to 4.34 with a 48:15 K:BB through 45.2 innings. Bibee's next start is expected to be at home this weekend against the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:35 pm
    • Bibee gets no-decision Monday
Tanner Bibee threw 5 1/3 innings of shutout ball in a no-decision in the Guardians’ 7-0 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Bibee allowed three hits, two walks and struck out four in the contest. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt removed Bibee from the game with the bases loaded in the sixth inning. Reliever Nick Sandlin escaped the jam without any runs scoring, preserving Bibee’s ERA. His ERA is 4.34 on the season. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Twins at home this weekend. • Struggles in blown save
Diaz blew the save Monday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batter. He had one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Diaz looked extremely unsettled Monday night, issuing his first free passes since April 20, ending a streak of eight walk-free innings. Even more indicative of his unsteady control, the Mets closer allowed the tying run to score by beaning Alec Bohm with the bases loaded. Despite the ugly outing Monday, Diaz is cemented as the Mets closer with his ERA standing at 3.24 over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm
