    • Stolen base in return to lineup
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: Cruz was held out of Saturday's lineup after tweaking his ankle in the series opener against the Giants. He notably moved up the order to hit third in his return Sunday and seemed to put the injury issue behind him as he swiped his third base of the season. Cruz is off to a slow start to the campaign, but he's shown some improvement of late by going 8-for-22 with a 25 percent strikeout rate across his last seven games. • Breaks homer drought
Freeman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Sunday's 3-1 loss to Toronto.

Advice: Freeman homered for the second time all season -- his first round-tripper since March 28 -- and extended his hit streak to eight games. He's logged at least one RBI in seven of those contests (11 total) with a .444 batting average. Rotowire.com Today, 8:03 pm

    • Encarnacion-Strand (hand) held out of Reds lineup
Christian Encarnacion-Strand was held out of the Reds’ starting lineup on Sunday after taking a pitch off of his hand during Saturday’s game.

Advice: Fortunately, X-rays came back negative for any fractures and Encarnacion-Strand isn’t expected to be shelved for long. He should be considered day-to-day heading into next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:37 pm
    • Fills in at first base
Steer started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 pm

    • Sits with hand injury
Encarnacion-Strand was held out of Sunday's game due to a hand injury suffered the previous day, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand was struck on his left hand by a pitch Saturday. According to manager David Bell, X-rays showed he did not sustain a fracture; however, the imaging revealed evidence of a previous fracture that may be contributing to his soreness. Spencer Steer filled in at first base for Encarnacion-Strand, who could be out a "few days," per Bell. Rotowire.com Today, 6:05 pm
    • Lit up by Orioles
Blackburn did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Blackburn was lit up by the Orioles, allowing four extra-base hits, including three home runs. He was on the hook for his second loss until the A's salvaged the come-from-behind win. Following a flawless start to the season that saw him allow no earned runs spanning 19.1 innings through his first three starts, Blackburn has progressively regressed over his next three starts, allowing 13 runs over that 15.2 inning stretch. He'll look to right the ship during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Miami Marlins come to Oakland for a three-game set. Rotowire.com Today, 5:48 pm
    • Paul Blackburn hit hard in no-decision against BAL
Paul Blackburn allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: It likely wasn’t a game you were starting Blackburn in, but the righty did have five strikeouts to just one walk, while producing a 33 percent whiff rate. His four-seamer was a real problem on Sunday, struggling to find the zone and getting hit incredibly hard. He now has a 3.34 ERA on the season but could remain a deep-league streamer next week against Miami thanks to the weak opponent and his current whiff skills. Rotoworld Today, 2:21 pm
    • Freddie Freeman homers in loss
Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday

Advice: Freeman hit a 425-foot blast off of Kevin Gausman that left the bat at 106.3 mph. It’s just his second home run on the season to fo along with an impressive 19 RBI. Freeman is hitting .306/.425/.435 on the season and while the power may not be as prevalent as he continues to get along, the rest of his offensive profile as remained tremendous. • Returns to lineup Sunday
Cruz (ankle) is starting at shortstop and batting third Sunday against the Giants, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Cruz was held out of the lineup Saturday after he tweaked his ankle in Friday's series opener, but he's back in the starting nine Sunday. The 25-year-old is without a home run since April 13 and has a .205/.286/.250 slash line and 38.8 percent strikeout rate during that 13-game stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 10:53 am
