    • Jeff McNeil gets right with three hits, home run
Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in the Mets’ 7-2 win over the Astros on Friday.

Advice: McNeil has been waiting all season for a game like this. The home run was his first at Citi Field since September 24th of last year and oddly his first long ball this season outside the state of Ohio. The signs of life are encouraging, but McNeil’s batting average still sits at a lowly .221. Even a minor hot streak would make him worth a look in deeper leagues since the Mets continue to start him every day. Rotoworld Friday, 7:22 pm

    • Riding pine Friday
McKinstry is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: McKinstry will yield to Ryan Kreidler at shortstop for the third time in the last four games. McKinstry is 4-for-29 (.138) with 10 strikeouts since June 12. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:37 pm

    • Out of lineup Friday
Bauers is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Cubs.

Advice: Despite Chicago sending right-hander Jameson Taillon to the mound Friday, the lefty-hitting Bauers will begin the game in the dugout. For the month of June, Bauers is slashing .263/.378/.447 with two home runs and eight RBI over 38 at-bats. Rhys Hoskins will start at first base Friday while Christian Yelich serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:46 pm

    • Akil Baddoo strikes out three times
Akil Baddoo struck out all three times up against the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Parker Meadows ought to have replaced Baddoo in the Tigers’ outfielder a week or two ago, but maybe it’ll finally happen now. Baddoo is just 3-for-33 this month, and the Tigers would benefit from playing Meadows in center and Riley Greene in a corner. Rotoworld Thursday, 10:45 pm

    • Sitting Thursday
Canha is absent from Thursday's lineup against the Angels.

Advice: Canha had started Detroit's last 22 games but hit only .211 in that span. He had a 15.9 percent strikeout rate during that stretch -- lessening the reason for concern -- though he'll still get a day of rest. Gio Urshela is sliding to first base, Matt Vierling to third, and Adkil Baddoo enters the lineup in left field. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:40 pm

    • Getting regular playing time
Matos will start in right field and bat sixth Thursday against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Matos is being included in the lineup for the fifth time in six games, and he looks like he'll hang on to a regular role in the corner outfield while Mike Yastrzemski (oblique) is on the injured list. Since getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento last weekend, Matos has gone 6-for-14 with a solo home run. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:22 am

    • Smacks third homer
Matos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Matos jumped on a hanging knuckle-curve from Drew Smyly in the fifth and sent it into the stands in left-center field for his third home run of the campaign and first since May 18 against Colorado. It marked the outfielder's second consecutive two-hit performance and first RBI this month. He's also hit safely in three straight contests and is now batting .320 (8-for-25) in June. • Smashes grand slam
Bauers went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Rangers in 10 innings.

Advice: Bauers got the Brewers on the board in the third inning, plating Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich and Willy Adames on a grand slam off Nathan Eovaldi. The grand slam was the second of Bauers' career. Though he's been splitting time with Rhys Hoskins at first base, Bauers is batting .273 with nine RBI and seven runs in his last 18 games. • Luis Matos collects two hits, homers vs. Cubs
Luis Matos went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in the Giants’ 4-3 win against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Matos was recalled after Mike Yastrzemski hit the injured list last week. He’s collected at least one hit in all four starts, including a solo homer in the fifth inning off of Drew Smyly on Wednesday. The 22-year-old outfielder is slashing .253/.272/.374 with three homers and 21 RBI across 103 plate appearances. Given his bat-to-ball skills and improved hard-hit rate, he should get a chance to continue improving on his .253 BABIP and could be relevant in five-outfielder leagues. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:18 pm
