    • Surrenders two early homers
      Gomber (1-3) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings, taking the loss versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

      Advice: Gomber dealt with general arm soreness earlier in the week, which caused him to have a start skipped. It doesn't appear to be a lingering issue, but he struggled Sunday, allowing home runs to Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman in the first inning. Gomber ended up needing 79 pitches (46 strikes) to get through three frames. He had posted a quality start in each his last four outings before Sunday's short start. The southpaw is at a 3.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43:20 K:BB over 61.2 innings across 11 starts. Gomber is projected for a road start versus the Cardinals his next time out.     • Cole Ragans pitches well in no decision
      Cole Ragans allowed one run on five hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Sunday.

      Advice: The left-hander struck out six and walked two on the day while recording 14 whiffs on 46 swings for a 30 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. He had some issues finding the strike zone with his off-speed pitches, but the induced whiffs outside of the zone and the Padres were unable to square him up.     • Nico Hoerner has two hits in loss to Reds
      Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with.     • Paul Sewald grabs save
      Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save against the Mets on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

      Advice: Sewald seems to relish the opportunity to close games against the organization that gave up on him and did so on back-to-back days this weekend.     • Adolis García homers in win over Marlins
      Adolis García went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

      Advice: García took a sixth-inning offering from Trevor Rogers and hit it 395 feet at 108.2 mph for his 13th home run on the season. He also added an RBI earlier in the game and now has 40 RBI on the year, which has helped prop up a disappointing .231/.285/.462 slash line. As a free-swinger, García has always seemed at risk for batting average regression, and it’s possible he won’t match last year’s .245 batting average, but the power remains a true asset.     • Charlie Morton effective but wild in no-decision
      Charlie Morton held the Athletics scoreless over six innings on Sunday. He allowed just one hit along with five walks and six strikeouts in a no-decision.

      Advice: Poor command pushed Morton’s pitch count up in what was otherwise a fantastic outing. This was the sixth straight start in which Morton decreased the usage of his fastball and Sunday marked a season-low at 15%. In turn, he turned to more changeups which the Athletics couldn’t square up, but Morton also struggled to find the zone with it at times.     • Kyle Finnegan nails down 16th save
      Kyle Finnegan worked a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday against the Guardians to earn the save. He allowed one hit and didn’t strike a batter out.

      Advice: The only pitchers with more saves than Finnegan this season are Ryan Helsley, Emmanuel Clase, and Robert Suárez while he’s tied with Clay Holmes. He’s been rock-solid as well with a sparkling 1.57 ERA and has a firm hold on closing duties in Washington. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
       
    • Getting Sunday off
      O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

      Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn typically hits the bench against left-handed pitchers, but he'll get a breather versus a righty (Zack Littell) for the series finale. Adley Rutschman will get a day off from catching and will start at designated hitter in place of O'Hearn, who had been included in the lineup in each of the previous five games.     • Goes deep in Saturday's win
      Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-5 win against Cincinnati.

      Advice: Swanson started June off on the right foot after only going deep once in 17 games all of last month. The shortstop has only five total home runs this season, but he also missed some time with knee soreness, which likely contributed to the slow start. If fully healthy, Swanson has the ability to get going in the power department, as he hit 20 or more long balls in each of the last three seasons with the Cubs and Atlanta.
