    • Remains out Tuesday
Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Atlanta received good news when an MRI revealed merely inflammation in Riley's left side rather than a strain. However, he is likely still sore and will miss a second straight start. With a scheduled off day coming Thursday, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Atlanta hold Riley out until Friday just to be safe. Zack Short is getting another start at third base Tuesday. • Stays hot in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Candelario, who has multiple hits in three of the last six games, is heating up. He's 9-for-24 during that stretch with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. The resurrected bat prompted a move up the order to fifth, after Candelario spent time in the lower third since mid-April. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:48 am

    • MRI shows inflammation
An MRI revealed that Riley has inflammation in his left side, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The results of Riley's MRI indicate that he'll be able to avoid a trip to the 10-day injured list, though the club will exercise caution to ensure he doesn't make the injury worse. "They'll treat him up tomorrow and see where he's at," said manager Brian Snitker. "The MRI just showing inflammation is a good thing, now it's going to be maintenance and a day-to-day thing." • Austin Riley day-to-day with side inflammation
Austin Riley’s MRI showed nothing more than inflammation in his left side, according to the Braves.

Advice: Consider Riley to be day-to-day. If he doesn’t feel better by midweek, the Braves could weigh placing him on the IL, but that’s not the plan for now. Zack Short will fill in at third base. Rotoworld Monday, 7:11 pm

    • Undergoing MRI on side
Riley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs and is slated to undergo an MRI on his injured left side, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Riley was lifted in the bottom of the fourth inning of Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets after experiencing left side tightness, which reportedly first surfaced during batting practice earlier that day. While Atlanta remains hopeful that Riley isn't dealing with a long-term injury, more will be known once the MRI results are in later Monday. Zack Short will pick up a start at the hot corner Monday while Riley exits the starting nine for the first time all season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:24 pm

    • Austin Riley undergoes MRI on injured side
Austin Riley is currently undergoing an MRI on his injured right side.

Advice: Everyone was hoping this was a minor tweak, but the MRI probably wouldn’t come so quickly if that was the case. Zack Short is playing third base for the Braves tonight. The team might want to see if it can swing an upgrade there should Riley land on the injured list. Rotoworld Monday, 2:14 pm

    • Drives in three
Candelario went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Candelario nearly missed a grand slam in the first inning and settled for a three-run double. This was just his second multi-RBI effort in 34 games this season. He's still battling a season-opening slump, but Candelario's bat has shown life of late. He's hit safely in four of the last five games, going 7-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Perhaps this recent five-game run will prompt a move up the batting order -- Candelario opened as the team's cleanup hitter but has since moved to the lower-third. The Reds are last in MLB with a .556 OPS out of the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:59 am

    • Jeimer Candelario delivers three-run double
Jeimer Candelario just missed a grand slam on Sunday, settling for a three-run double against the Giants.

Advice: Candelario delivered the blast that left Jung Hoo Lee with an injured shoulder after he crashed into the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in 18 ballparks. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:56 pm

    • Launches homer in win
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Henderson regained a share of the major-league lead with his 12th homer of the campaign, putting him in a tie with Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna and Houston's Kyle Tucker. While he's hit two homers over the last three games, Henderson has just three multi-hit efforts in May, a month that's seen him go 8-for-34 (.235) over nine contests. It's little to be concerned about considering how well he's played overall -- he has a .278/.355/.583 slash line with 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases over 38 games.
