• Alec Marsh strong for six against Guardians
Alec Marsh pitched six innings of one-run ball Friday in a victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Marsh came into the night with a 6.61 ERA in his previous six starts, so he needed this. Since it’s just the fifth time this year that he’s completed six innings, he has only four quality starts. Nevertheless, he’s 6-5 with a 4.19 ERA. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • Picks up sixth win
Marsh (6-5) earned the win Friday against the Guardians, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: After yielding 10 runs across 8.2 innings his previous two starts, the 26-year-old looked solid in this 91-pitch outing. The only blemish on Marsh's evening was a solo homer allowed to Jose Ramirez in the first inning. The Kansas City right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.19 en route to his first win since June 8 against Seattle. Marsh is currently slated to make his next start at home versus Tampa Bay. • Juan Soto’s homer ignites Yankees
Juan Soto went 2-for-4 with a loud three-run home run, a walk, and three runs scored in a 16-5 win for the Yankees over the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Soto’s sixth inning home run felt like a distant memory after the Yankees exploded for nine runs over the final two innings, but Yusei Kikuchi had shut them down to that point and the team seemed like they were reeling until Soto sent one deep into the right field stands. The Yankees, and Soto, would not look back from that moment on. Rotoworld Today, 7:39 pm

  • Strikes out five in loss
Parker (5-4) took the loss against the Rays on Friday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts over five innings.

Advice: Parker surrendered a solo home run to Jose Siri in the second inning and another run on an RBI single by Isaac Paredes in the third. He rebounded with two perfect innings but was pulled after the fifth at 92 pitches. The southpaw has completed at least five frames in 12 of 14 starts this season and now owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 63:18 K:BB in 2024. He lines up for a home matchup against the Mets next week. The 30-year-old has now recorded at least six strikeouts over each of his past three outings and has only walked three batters in 28.1 June innings. On the season, Eflin owns a 3.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 69:7 K:BB over 87.1 innings and lines up to face the Royals next week. Rotowire.com Today, 6:56 pm

  • Zach Eflin hurls six scoreless in win over Nats
Zach Eflin was terrific in Friday night’s victory over the Nationals, punching out six batters over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: Eflin scattered just four hits and one walk on the night. Only once did an opposing hitter advance past second base in the game, and that was Jacob Young who advanced to third on a ground ball after his leadoff double in the third inning and was then thrown out at home on a fielder’s choice. The 30-year-old right-hander generated 11 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the ballgame — five of those on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. Eflin will tote a 3.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 69/7 K/BB ratio (87 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Royals in Kansas City. Rotoworld Today, 6:26 pm

  • Mitchell Parker strikes out five in loss to Rays
Mitchell Parker pitched decently in Friday night’s loss to the Rays in Tampa Bay, surrendering two runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: On the plus side, the 24-year-old southpaw racked up five strikeouts on the night while allowing just one base on balls. Parker served up a solo homer to Jose Siri in the second inning, then the Rays added another run in the third on an RBI single off the bat of Isaac Paredes. Parker got 13 swings and misses on 92 pitches in the game, posting a CSW of 28 percent. Now 5-4 on the season, he’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 3.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 63/18 K/BB ratio (78 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Mets. Rotoworld Today, 6:26 pm
  • Absent from Baltimore lineup
Westburg is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Rangers.

Advice: Westburg had started each of the previous eight contests, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Orioles face right-hander Max Scherzer. Baltimore will go with Jorge Mateo at second base and Ramon Urias at third. Rotowire.com Today, 1:24 pm

  • Season-high six walks in win
Abbott (7-6) picked up the win over the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks over five innings while striking out two.

Advice: The only runs charged to Abbott on the night came on a two-run homer from Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the third, as the lefty managed to pitch his way out of trouble the rest of the time despite issuing a season-high six free passes. Abbott has now won four of his last five starts, though he finishes the month of June with 15 walks, compared to just six in May. On the positive side, he's also gone at least five innings in 11 consecutive starts and hasn't given up more than three runs in five straight. Rotowire.com Today, 4:05 am
