• Nabs two bags in loss
Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday, so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role. • Josh Smith drives in lone run for Rangers in loss
Josh Smith went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Smith singled off Hoby Milner in the first inning to score Corey Seager from second, giving the Rangers an early 1-0 lead and their only run of the game. Smith was responsible for just one of five hits the Rangers had on the night, but the young third baseman has turned in a solid June, going 22-for-61 (.361) at the plate with eight extra-base hits and 10 RBI. • Maikel Garcia leads off, shifts to second base
Maikel Garcia is back in the leadoff spot and playing second base for the Royals on Monday.

Advice: It’s the first time Garcia has played anywhere other third this year, but the Royals just called up a third baseman in CJ Alexander and have Michael Massey apparently limited to DH at the moment. As a result, Garcia will get to show his versatility. The return to the leadoff spot is also good news; he had led off throughout the season before being dropped to seventh on Saturday and eighth on Sunday. Considering that he has a .291 OBP, there’s no blaming the Royals for making the switch. Still, he remains a better bet than the alternative options to bat ahead of Bobby Witt Jr. Rotoworld Monday, 2:07 pm

  • Likely bound for reserve role
Moore is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The versatile Moore should retain a regular spot in the Seattle lineup against left-handed pitching, but his opportunities to play against righties should take a sizable hit with Jorge Polanco (hamstring) making his return from the injured list Monday. Moore had already seen his streak of nine consecutive starts come to an end in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins, when manager Scott Servais opted to move him to the bench against Miami right-hander Kyle Tyler. • Loses hold of leadoff gig
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a base hit in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Garcia had made each of his first 74 starts of the season as the Royals' leadoff hitter, but he was dropped down to seventh and eighth in the batting order over the final two games of the weekend in Texas. His slide down the lineup comes while he's mustered a .152/.221/.177 slash line over 20 games thus far in June. The Royals haven't yet settled on a replacement for Garcia atop the lineup, as both Adam Frazier (thumb) and Nick Loftin received turns in the leadoff spot to close out the weekend. • Goes yard again
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 4-0 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Smith tagged Sam Long for a solo shot in the seventh inning, marking Smith's third home run in the last five games. During that stretch, he's 7-for-13 with six RBI. With third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) nearing a return, Smith could shift away from the hot corner and into the DH slot. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:40 pm
  • Josh Smith homers in win
Josh Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Smith took Sam Long deep 383 feet at 102.2 mph for his seventh home run on the season. The 26-year-old has been brilliant filling in for Josh Jung, hitting .303/.391/.478 on the year. Considering his ability to play all over the field, he should be able to fight for consistent playing time even when Jung returns. Provided he keeps hitting like this. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:01 pm
  • Sitting Sunday
Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins.

Advice: Moore will get a rest Sunday after going 2-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-0 win over Miami. Ryan Bliss will start at second base and bat ninth against Marlins right-hander Kyle Tyler. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:36 am

  • Laces pair of doubles Saturday
Moore went 2-for-5 with an RBI double, another two-bagger and two runs in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: The Mariners gave Julio Rodriguez the night off, but Moore had no trouble helping make up for the slugger's absence by authoring one of four multi-hit efforts for Seattle. The pair of extra-base hits were right on brand for Moore, who's hit a double or better on 24 of his 42 knocks this season to put him just one XBH away from tying a career-best figure in that category.
