• Chased early in loss
Marsh (6-6) took the loss against the Rays on Thursday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over three innings while striking out one.

Advice: Marsh struggled out of the gate, issuing walks to the first two batters he faced before allowing two runs to come across in the opening frame. He threw only 10 of his 17 first pitches for strikes and lasted just three innings before being relieved by Carlos Hernandez to open the fourth. It marked the second time this season in which Marsh was unable to go beyond three frames, and the fourth time that he's surrendered at least five runs. He's also walked multiple batters in five consecutive starts. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Shaky in win
Eflin (5-5) picked up the win over the Royals on Thursday, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and one walk over five innings while striking out three.

Advice: Eflin didn't have his best stuff Thursday, surrendering runs in four of the six innings in which he appeared, though the latter run would not be charged to him on account of a fielding error from Richie Palacios. Despite those struggles, the veteran right-hander was still able to secure his fifth win of the season and the fourth win in his last five decisions (spanning nine starts). Eflin has now gone at least five innings in five consecutive starts, though he's given up multiple runs in four of those outings, raising his ERA to 4.19 on the season. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago
  • Slugs 21st homer
Soto went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Soto brought New York to within four runs with his two-run swat to center field in the seventh inning, but that was the final tally for either team. The All-Star outfielder is up 21 homers on the campaign, putting him on pace to surpass the career-high 35 long balls he hit last season. Soto has added 63 RBI, 70 runs, four steals and a .300/.438/.568 slash line through 385 plate appearances in his first season as a Yankee. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:40 pm

  • Zac Gallen lasts just four innings versus Dodgers
Zac Gallen allowed three runs over four innings Thursday in his start versus the Dodgers.

Advice: The results weren’t great, but Gallen’s velocity tonight was even better in his first start back from the IL; he averaged 95.9 mph on his fastball, up from 95.2 mph last time out and 92.9 mph in the 11 starts before he went on the IL. Because of the diminished velocity, we were a bit down on him before his hamstring injury. He seems like a better bet now, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:29 pm
  • Keeps rolling
Ober (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against Detroit, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: All three runs scored by the Tigers came with two outs in the second inning after strike three to Zach McKinstry got past Ryan Jeffers and allowed McKinstry to reach first and extend the inning. Still, Ober managed to generate a fourth straight quality start and outing with at least eight Ks. Through 94.0 innings, Ober owns a 4.12 ERA and a 100:23 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox in Chicago next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm

  • Marsh allows five in loss to Rays on Thursday
Alex Marsh allowed five runs in three innings and took the loss against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Marsh gave up six hits, walked three and struck out one. The Royals had seen enough after three innings and 75 pitches from Marsh. He allowed two runs in the first on an RBI groundout by Randy Arozarena and an RBI double by Josh Lowe. Jonny DeLuca hit a solo home run and Richie Palacios had an RBI single in the second inning. DeLuca added an RBI single in the third inning and Marsh didn’t come back out for the fourth inning. Marsh has a 4.57 ERA, but has won six games this season. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals on the road next week.

  • Eflin picks up fifth win against Royals Thursday
Zach Eflin allowed six runs (five earned) in five innings and got the win in the Rays’ 10-8 victory over the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Eflin gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out three. The win was his fifth of the season. The Royals started scoring with a Michael Massey solo home run in the second inning. Kansas City scored twice in the third inning on a Bobby Witt Jr. sacrifice fly and RBI single by Vinnie Pasquantino. Pasquantino had an RBI groundout in the fifth inning. The sixth inning started with a Richie Palacious error which allowed Michael Massey to reach and Hunter Renfroe chased Eflin with an RBI single. Renfroe ended up scoring later in the inning with the run charged to Eflin. This season has been a nightmare for Eflin drafters as he hasn’t come close to repeating the career year he had last year. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road next week.

  • Bobby Miller no longer starting Sunday vs. Brewers
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Bobby Miller will not start on Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Roberts elaborated that Miller is healthy, but the Dodgers want to give him some extra time instead of taking the ball on just four days of rest after allowing two runs over five innings on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. It’ll be a bullpen game for Los Angeles instead. Miller will presumably take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm

  • Won't start on regular rest
Miller will not start Sunday against Milwaukee, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Miller would have been on regular rest Sunday, but the Dodgers will opt to give him at least two extra days to recover. He's struggled in three starts since returning from the injured list, posting a combined 7:9 K:BB with a 6.75 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:01 pm
