• Sitting Saturday
Duran is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

Advice: After starting in 11 consecutive games, Duran will be out of the lineup for a second straight contest Saturday. For the month of June, he's slashing .230/.226/.328 with one home run and seven RBI over 61 at-bats. The lefty-hitting Travis Jankowski will serve as the designated hitter Saturday and bat eighth against the returning Michael Wacha. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 pm

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Josh Jung (wrist) will take batting practice on Tuesday to determine whether he’s ready to return.

He’ll take batting practice early next week to determine whether he’s ready to return or needs some additional time in the minor leagues. Rotoworld Today, 11:37 am

  • Increases activities Friday
Rendon (hamstring) took grounders, hit and ran Friday, per MLB.com.

Advice: Rendon continues to ramp up as he attempts to return to action after being diagnosed with a high-grade partial tear of his left hamstring in late April. The veteran third baseman's next step in his rehab is expected to include cutting while running as part of his agility drills. If Rendon continues to make progress, he could be activated from the injured list in early-to-mid July. Rotowire.com Today, 10:26 am

  • Optioned to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Dalbec to Triple-A Worcester on Saturday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: The move corresponds with Wilyer Abreu (ankle) being reinstated from the injured list. Dalbec has struggled from the plate since being recalled by the Red Sox on June 2, going 4-for-30 with four RBI and a 44.1 percent strikeout rate. He'll look to get his swing right in Triple-A, where he is slashing .245/.330/.529 with eight home runs and 21 RBI over 115 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 10:10 am

  • Red Sox option Bobby Dalbec to Triple-A
Red Sox optioned INF/OF Bobby Dalbec to Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Dalbec heads back to the minors with Wilyer Abreu returning from the injured list ahead of Saturday’s game against the Reds. The 28-year-old has added some defensive versatility to his game, but his slashing .133/.217/.193 with one homer and three steals across 93 plate appearances this season in the majors. It’s not what you want. Rotoworld Today, 10:04 am

  • Aiming for return Monday
Jung (wrist) told reporters Saturday that he believes he could return to the Rangers on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Jung noted that his wrist still feels stiff when swinging the bat, and that his return is still under discussion. His right wrist was fractured after being hit by a pitch April 1, and he underwent surgery one day later. He began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on June 16 and went 4-for-17 with one RBI over four outings. If Jung returns Monday, he would be available for the Rangers' series opener against the Brewers. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 am

  • Josh Jung (wrist) aiming to return early next week
Josh Jung (wrist) is hoping to return early next week.

Advice: Jung told reporters Saturday that he’ll be back soon, but that decision is ultimately up to Texas’ medical staff. The 26-year-old third baseman has been working his way back from early-April surgery to repair a fractured wrist and figures to be ready to roll at some point in the coming days. It’s possible he’ll be activated prior to Monday’s series opener against Milwaukee, but that’s not official yet. Rotoworld Today, 9:39 am
